Urethral pain?

I've ignored it, thinking it was just general perineal pain from tear/stitches. But now that the pain and discomfort are mostly gone, that discomfort near my urethra is still there. My theory is that the catheter caused it, but I have no idea. Anyone else have urethra pain? (Not UTI-feeling, just a bruise feeling.)

Yes! I have like an odd discomfort. Kind of like a muscle thing. It's going Away slowly but I found it odd.

Sitting on the toilet is still uncomfortable but no where else. I was going to mention it to my mw.

I had that after my first when I had a catheter. It went away after a few months, but it really sucked. I haven't had it yet this time, but I didn't have a catheter this time either.

I had this. It was spasms and bruising from the Foley. The injured feeling went away by the day I was discharged, but it came back 2 days later along with the itching and burning of a UTI.

Discomfort isn't uncommon after a catheter, but watch out for new symptoms and be very sure you're relaxing and taking your time to empty your bladder every time you go. And it doesn't hurt to do a few kegels just to retrain those muscles.

OMG yes! I hadn't contacted my doctor because it doesn't feel infected, mostly just like bruised or something. It's weird! Must be from the catheter because that was one of the most un enjoyable parts of my birth experience.

So glad I'm not the only one - was beginning to wonder if the nurse screwed up somehow when inserting or removing the catheter. But sounds like this is part of the joys of childbirth. Yay.
