Matteo caught my eye this morning. WDYT? Too Italian for someone who's not?

    I thought "NMS since I'm not Italian " before finishing reading your post. Nice name, but for me doesn't fit without ethnic connection.

    I like the name. Would assume based on the name that he would be Spanish or Italian though. I know 2 boys with this name - one is Italian, other Italian and Spanish.

    I love this name. We strongly considered it, but since we have a Jewish last name (and are not Italian or Spanish), I thought it was too much of a stretch.

    I know two Matteos -- one of Italian descent (mother is from Italy) and one is Hispanic.  If you're neither, seems a little forced to me.

    Very strange to me if you're not Italian or Hispanic.  It's kinda like naming your kid Juan out of nowhere.  That might change over time, as names like Cristina are extremely popular
