Charting under the influence?

An opk/ charting question:

Yesterday evening I got a negative but on-its-way-to-positive opk. Then I went out for drinks. I had 3.

This morning, I got a positive opk and a big (.7 degree) temp jump.

I obviously don't know exactly when the opk would have first read as positive, but it was less than 12 hours between the negative opk and the temp jump. Is it possible to ovulate just a few hours after the first positive opk, or could the high temps just be from the alcohol?

DH and I are covered BD-wise either way, but I really hope I didn't ovulate yet. It seems to be happening earlier every month, which is not a good trend in terms of my reserve...

Drinking can definitely mess with your temps and I also get higher temps from drinking so I don't think there is much you can do but keep temping.  If this temp seems out of place once you have a pattern than I would discard it.  I also O'd really early this month which is very strange for me.  Not sure what to think of it.

My guess is that it spiked from the alcohol, but you'll have a better idea once you have a few more temps. If it goes back down I think I would just disregard it. GL

Yeah, even if I have just one drink, my temp jumps the next morning. I think you're safe that it was the alcohol.

I didn't know that about  the alcohol so that means I grew another dendrite. I think you can have 12 hr turn around.  The last month I did not get a positive OPK until the afternoon and then by morning it was negative.  FF has my O day the same one I got a positve test on.  Someone please correct me if I am wrong as I am still new to this and double line tests can be confusing.

lcwed what you've stated sounds right.  I too have short time in between a postive OPK and O.  Typically the positive opk is saying you will O between 12-48 hrs after the spike, but unless you are testing several times a day it is hard to pinpoint that time period more specifically so as soon as a + shows get to work!  Best of luck to you all!

I would definitely make sure yuo indicate alcohol in your stats, so if you look back you can see it was off or it was the norm. Alcohol will raise your temp.

My temp was back down to around the baseline on Sunday, and then up again today, so I'm guessing I ovulated Sun (CD 14--my usual day, and more in line with the opk).  My mind is at ease, and I'm sooooo ready to stop BDing!
