My son loves his soothie pacifier and I wish he didn't he is not a thumb sucker.

I put has access to it at all times, but when she is just walking around with it hanging out I try and grab it. Sometimes I say "can mommy have your paci?" Or "give daddy your paci". Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

We say it's just for sleeping, which means he gets it in the car, stroller, and bed. I also give it to him when he needs to be quiet, like sometimes in church.

DD never would take one, even though we tried a million different kinds. She has always preferred me as her pacifier.

DD seems to be getting worse about wanting the paci, if she sees it she goes nuts. Right now she only gets it while napping/sleeping. Unfortunately when we took it away she starting sucking her fingers and I really think I'd rather her have the paci for a bit longer. Maybe next month we'll try taking it and see if she gets by without sucking.

We are mostly bed time but he generally has one if he goes and gets it. We are on vacation this week and we are going to try and limit it only to bed and the car starting tomorrow. Ideally I want him off of it by 18 months if possible.

DD never was a fan as a little baby but now she loves it. However we only allow it at bed and nap time. Occasionally in the car on a long trip if we want her to nap. I'm not too worried about it right now...I think I'll try to wean it around 2.

I know a 3.5 year old that still uses it all the time which I think is odd and can probably mess up teeth so I definitely don't plan on going that long. But for right now with sleep I don't mind--especially because she's pretty much nonstop teething and it helps her mouth feel better.

DD has access to hers all day. Doesn't bother me or DH. Two years old is our cut off.

I voted only while sleeping but in reality it's also during tough car rides, at daycare when she's having trouble transitioning out of my arms, and I'm sure other times here and there. My husband is more concerned about it than me. I like that it brings LO comfort and I am a wimp. The one problem is that I am due with baby #2 in August and the doctor said either get rid of the pacifier now (meaning at the 15month appointment) or wait until awhile after the baby is born. If we take it away too close before or after baby#2 I guess it will seem like a punishment.

I voted nap/bedtime but he sometimes he gets it whenever. Like this morning, he was hiding in his closet with a paci...not really sure where he got it. :-/ If he's having a fussy day I'll give him the paci.

Jacey basically always has one or knows where one is. If she wants one and cant reach them she calls for her pappy and im a sucker so she gets it. DH is more against it than me as he cant stand to see a toddler walking around with a paci in its mouth speaking full sentences. If you ask her for her pappy she will give it to you though. We will wean from the pappy by 2 as its the only thing she has as a soother. I figure we took the bottle at 10 months with no problem whycant she have her pappy. Her teeth are fine so I see no pproblem with it. She especially wants it whenever she's in her carseat. I would rather give her her pappy than fight to get her to sleep and it take the upward of 2 hours.

pretty much all the time, but only for sleep at daycare.  The thing has been a life saver,she very much needs it.  Ideally, it would stay in bed after she turned 1, but that didn't happen, so I'll push that goal to 18 mos or maybe even age 2.  I'm not too worried, I do know it will be gone by 3.

ugh, it used to be way less but the last couple of weeks he has been paci crazy.  If he sees it, he goes nuts.

So he gets it at nap, in the jogging stroller, at kids club at the gym, diaper changes, and generally from 5 until dinner.  If he is having a rough night, he gets it at bed time, but usually he goes to bed for the night without it.

I go back and forth between cutting it cold turkey at 18 months or waiting until 2….
