OB recommendations that deliver at UC /Good Sam?

It's crazy early, but I just got blood results this week, and I'm pregnant finally! My RE's office (nurse) said I should start thinking about what hospital I want to deliver at so my RE can recommend someone when it's time for them to release me to an OB. I still have a few appointments left with the RE, but want to start thinking where and with what OB. I live on the east side near Anderson, but if their office is in Clifton, I'm fine with that. So, please recommend your OB that delivers at UC /Good Sam. Thanks!

Um, is there a reason you want to deliver at UC? You might also want to strongly consider Good Samaritan Hospital or Christ Hospital. UC is not exactly recognized for their L&D or Mother/Baby services.

UC actually has amazing L&D services and offers a Level 3 NICU. I strongly recommend Dr. Kelli Flood-Shaffer at UC. She is the director of the OB/GYN department and I absolutely love her. UC is a level 1 trauma center and has some of the best physicians at hand. I have worked at both Good Sam and UC for a number of years as an RN so picking a hospital was a pretty big deal to me. I had some pretty high standards going into my first pregnancy. I'm delivering at UC in Oct and couldn't be happier with the care I have received there.

I would also recommend Good Sam as opposed to University.

Ok, for those of you who recommend Good Sam, which OB did you see and like? I just saw my RE again and he gave me a few suggestions that deliver at Good Sam. I want to make a good choice! Thanks for your help

@katinhiding, thank you for the suggestion. I used to go to that office, but left bc the OB/GYN I was seeing wouldn't do anything about my painful af or difficulties ttc. @ebie79‌ I am considering that practice, do you have any experience with them that you could share, or have a favorite OB? I'm thinking about seeing Dr. Rinala per my RE.

Thank you so much! I'm so nervous about picking a OB practice, I've been seeing my RE for so long I don't want to leave! I hope I can find the same comfort, understanding of my situation and quality of care with a OB as well.

I love Dr. Rinala. She is my OB and when I got preggo I started the OB rotation, at first I was a bit freaked out but honestly, everyone at For Women's Inc is amazing and really cares. Good luck.

I haven't had my first appointment there yet. They got me an appointment scheduled a little over 2 weeks from the day I called. I requested Dr. Rinala per my RE, but she was booked til late August. My RE also recommended the OB group at Good Sam as well. I figure if I don't like it, I will move on to another practice.

@wa1215 what did you think about For Women? I've had two apts. there & this last one I was very disappointed. Just curious what you thought... have you seen anyone at Good Sam? I was going maybe transfer there.
