Confession #1: We're leaving for the beach this afternoon for a long weekend, and I am bringing my laptop. Why? Because when I Bump on mobile, I can't easily reply (my phone is a jerk), and without signatures I only know who 1/10th of people are! And seriously, go 72 hours without Bumping?! Hardly a vacation!

there's a name board that this could have easily been done on.
I know this is because of my personal experience and I cannot expect not one person to never mention anything "Lisa pregnancy related" but JFC it was just like bam all up in my face.

I never post in HBDB because I'm afraid some dirty lurker will know me IRL....

And I love the name Brody, @lisaren.  He's my favorite character in one of my favorite movies, Mallrats, but he spells it Brodie.  (Yes, I know, that character isn't a great role model, but I love him just the same.)

I agree with @lisaren‌ on that as well.

My fffc is that I hate cows milk and won't give it to my kids unless they're allergic to soy. Even then, I'd have to think about it. I'm all about human breast milk but I think it's nasty to drink cow milk that is chock full of enough hormones to grow a calf into a full size cow in a year. Blegh!

Yeah I cringed when I saw that post and was seriously afraid to click it. I figured she would get totally flamed! I can only imagine if it made my stomach jump into my throat only by association that it was really hard for you. You handled it like a champ though. I don't know how you do it. You are a strong and super admirable woman! You really are an inspiration and a great example. Keep your chin up, mama!

Some days I wonder. I think I'm a huge fuckin cluster of reminders of what can go wrong other times I think I bring some kind of fun non pregnancy related fun. But it's the insensitive bullshit that fucks my ass up.

On that note I'm going to eat a shit load of fruit and take some selfies with me wearing pigtails. Naked. Because I can.

I thought this was in poor taste too, and when I opened it I totally expected the OP to get flamed or at least informed that her question was inappropriate. FWIW I think the name Brody is lovely and I will forever think of your LO when I hear it.

I am a fucking dumbass.    I tried to change my belly button jewelry this morning.....about 20 minutes after I put Bio Oil on my belly.     Sigh......Fail......

I really don't know if I should bother trying to save my piercings,  or just say fuck em and let em all close.  

 

BTW,  I didn't comment on the name thread last night,  but I would totally choose Brody before Henry.  Henry sounds too prince like.....Brody reminds me of the Homeland show on HBO.

Dh's 16yo cousin has been living with my IL's for the past couple of months. This is a good thing & being around all of us has done more good for him than the last 6mos-1yr did. BUT, school is out now so that means I have to put clothes on & can't walk around naked anymore since I never know where he'll be at. I'm super annoyed.

So it makes more sense: we live on a farm, my IL's are my neighbor about 0.5miles away, but we have a pond & lots of shit to do around our yard = he's here a lot.

I just like being naked, is that too much to ask for????

FFFC #2: @Maelara - my brain is goofy, and if I see a word wrong once, or hear the wrong thing in a song, my brain will forever keep it at that first memory and not allow me to re-write it. Example: in a song I love, the singer says "when I showed you the dark inside of me", but I will forever hear "when I showed you the DUCK inside of me". Example #2: My brain keeps insisting that your name is Malaria. I try to re-write it! Your name is such a pretty name. But my brain says "Nope! Malaria it is!"

I called DH a pussy because he made a safe and legal stop at a yellow light.  I wanted him to run it.  We were on our way to Coldstone and I really, really, really wanted Birthday Cake Remix.  He was pretty miffed.  I'm still not sorry.  The ice cream was delicious.

@lisaren I missed that last night. I would have been upset too.

My FFFC is that seeing women breastfeeding their children older than 2 makes me really uncomfortable. I bf DS for a year, but I have a friend who still bf her 2.5 yo. When we went to the zoo together this weekend I was so terribly embarrassed and uncomfortable, but felt horrible that I felt that way.

I totally hid in the bathroom at work yesterday to avoid a phone call because I knew it would be a pain in the ass to deal with. I am not usually that person, but I was in a bad mood and I really didn't want to.

Also, I coughed in the middle of the office and let out a huge fart. I'm pretty sure the fart was louder than the cough.

@lissydee Thanks for the info !   I don't have jewelry in right now cause I couldn't get any beads screwed on with the oil on everything.   I was concerned that it might close by this evening!   ha ha ha !!!      Nice open hole comment too 

@uncharted01  I plan on planning most of my own baby shower too.   I give no fucks if people think I am tacky.    I would never ask someone else to plan MY party so that I get gifts....that seems selfish to me,  I guess I would rather be tacky than selfish.    Oh yeah,  and I also LOVE party planning.   I am the planner of all planners!        I will probably ask for some help,  but I won't be handing out assignments and making people responsible for things.

Only one person really said that. I'm going to assume knowing that's impossible on a board this big. We aren't saying there should only be one Brody. We are saying the OP of that thread was extremely tacky and unclassy to post that thread. It's still a fresh cut for @lisaren and lots of us in general. Lisa would have made the comment even if it was one of us that was going through this and not her. 

The OP should have taken her thread to the baby name board instead of here.

You're right, not everyone has the same taste in names, if we did life would be very boring. That said, the OP could have shown more class and less disdain for the name of Lisa's little angel baby. It was uncalled for and I think your comment was too.

My FFFC.....I get super pissed when SS's BM takes him for his "maybe once a month" visit and ends up using him as a facebook photo prop....but then I feel bad for being angry because I know he's having fun with her.  DH and I know her reason is to make herself look like "super mom"  to her friends and it's not really for him but it still grinds my gears.

(BM=Biomom, we have full custody, she up and moved with her BF 4 hours away when SS was 7. now almost 12)

It's a NAME, not a CHILD.  There was no disdain for the child, just for the name.  There's a difference.  Again, I said it should have been posted on the Baby names board, but a lot of the shit posted here should be posted elsewhere, including other name posts.  Car seat and stroller posts?  In the Nurseries and baby gear board.  I'm saying that yeah, it sucks, but it wasn't done with malicious intent.  She's talking about naming a completely different child with different parents who have different tastes in names.  Why is that a problem?


It's a problem because as I said, the cut is still fresh for @lisaren! I agree it's a name but it IS a CHILD to Lisa. It's her child she will never get to hold or meet or see grow up. That's why it's a big deal. The OP most definitely made her preference known for the name Henry and he didn't like Brody because it seemed like a wild child's name.

I think some tact and class would have gone a long way. She isn't new, I've seen her siggy pic a couple times (it's pretty cute). I believe she lurk our board and I know she's a more active poster somewhere else, I just can't remember.

I'm glad you agree it sucks. You also have a good point about using different boards for some of the stuff posted here. I usually don't mind name threads, this is a BMB. We talk abou everything relating to a baby and pregnancy. I just think that particular thread should have been posted elsewhere for very obvious reasons. It hurt Lisa and that's what we should be thinking about.
