Gender !

Finding out gender today!!!! This is my 2nd , and I'm really hoping for a girl. I already have a boy. Of course first and foremost we just want a healthy baby... Is it wrong to prefer one sex or the other ? I kinda feel guilty.

I don't know if it's wrong, but we did.  We are expecting our first and just always pictured a little boy.  Of course, we are having a girl.  We were still in love with her the second we found out, but that night I was up for 3 hours in the middle of the night freaking out at how ill-prepared I am to mother a girl (I cannot style hair to save my life!). 

I also felt guilty, but less so when I took the news well.

I want a boy for our first, and sometimes feel guilty admitting that, but we will be happy w/ either of course!!! It'll be just getting used to the idea, I think. I have a "feeling" it's a boy. Still won't know for another few weeks!

No, you can't help how you feel.  I really wanted a girl when pregnant with DS, and honestly, I didn't take it that well when I found out it was a boy.  Of course, not I can't imagine NOT having a son -he's so much fun.  I think I was scared of boys because I grew up with only a sister and female cousins and was just never around little boys.

This time around, I'm okay with either, truly.  A boy would be fun because I like the idea of two brothers.  But having a girl would be great too.

Nothing wrong w this. You can't help what you feel. I personally prefer a girl this time around. I already have a boy and a girl. The girls are easier (and cleaner). I am however not buying anything girly or boyish. We are still discussing boy names. It's 50/50 so it could go either way! So I'm trying not to get my hopes high.

Funny story tho. #1, ex *really* wanted a girl. I kept telling him to take it easy and as long baby is healthy. We found out its a boy. He was SO disappointed. I was annoyed. He came around in few days and accepted that we were having a boy. DS is a great kid. It's all good.

#2, ex was not able to come with me to the anatomy scan. Found out it's going to be a girl. I thought I'd play a joke on him. I had the US tech print out one saying 'boy!' Ex believed me to the extent when I told him it's a joke and it's really a girl, he would not believe me for several days due to the US 'boy' picture. I made the mistake not asking for one that specifically says 'girl!' He eventually believed me but man!!!! That guy!

Our US is scheduled for June 23rd. Cannot wait!!! (That is if LO cooperates).

No I see nothing wrong with wanting one sex over the other. Not gonna lie I will probably have a 5 second pity party if I have a girl (not I fan of dresses, plus I suck at the whole.make up and hair stuff) but you never know i could have a girl and she could be just like me. You never know what your kid will be like when they get older.

Also scared to death of doing hair. Hoping that if we have a girl she has the most naturally beautiful hair!

I was the same way with my second DS and they are seriously best friends and love playing together!! You will love having two boys!

@mb314 - your comment made my day. I'm 95% sure I'm having a boy and I'm so scared to be super upset when I find that out. I've always pictured myself with a girl. I know that I'll adjust and once the baby is born I won't care. But I work with a lady that is still bitter about having a boy and I was so worried that I wouldn't adjust... stories like yours give me hope that she's just a crazy person.

Yeah, I think 99% of people totally adjust when they have their baby.  It can seem so unreal when your pregnant - imagining having another baby.  But once you have him/her and the personality begins to develop, you can't imagine it any other way.

Thanks ladies!! All of your posts were helpful! We found out we are having another BOY! I did have a brief pity party in the car for 30 secs and then laughed it off!! We are excited and my son will have a little brother to play with. It's all good. We can now stop calling the baby IT, lol
