She didn't want to wait **Update** Heading home in the am.

First off I need to apologize to @zipscheer07 for steeling her thunder and not being able to give her the chance to inform all of you that baby girl Mallory Ember has made her appearance.

Mallory's birth story started off like any other day. I got up on May 28th around 8 am and was up for a couple hours when I started to not feel the greatest so I decided to go and lay back down for a couple more hours to see if it would help. When I got up I still felt exhausted and Mallory had positioned herself in a way that was not the most comfortable. I tried stimulating her and poking at her to see if I could get her to move into a different position, but no, she was being stubborn. She would give me a little kick back, but would not budge from her spot.

Throughout the day I started to have contractions that I thought were normal braxton hicks.  Nothing that was regular, I was just having a lot of them.  By that evening around 8 pm central time, the contraction were starting to get very uncomfortable and coming more often so I went ahead and started to time them.  Sure enough they were between 4 and 6 mins apart but not unbearable.  I called the women's center at the hospital to get some advice knowing they would want me to come in, but I was certain that when I got there the contractions would stop and I would be sent home feeling silly.

That was not the case.  We got to the hospital around 10:30ish pm. I explained to the doctor that I was scheduled for a c-section on June 11th and that I am only 37 wks and 1day. She everything will be fine and that 37 weeks is full term. (still felt like it was too early) and proceeded to check me. Sure enough I was in active labor. 3cm dilated and 80% efaced. Dr. said that my contractions were intense and regular enough to change my cervix and that we were going to go ahead and have a baby.  I started to panic just a little. Again thinking that it was too early, and that I was not prepared for this while DH, has the biggest shit eaten grin on his face knowing we were going to meet our daughter very soon.

The Dr. called all the on call staff that needed to be there, while the nurses got me ready for surgery.  Once in the OR everything was going smoothly, I had DH by my side, and the pressure everyone warns you about was not bad at all. Then all I heard was my Dr. saying Meconium, Maconium!!! and 2 Neucal Cords!  That's when my eyes got big, I got really scared but all I could do was wait for that beautiful cry. Luckily I didn't have to wait long. Mother nature new that something wasn't right and she needed to come now.

Mallory Ember was born at 12:07 am on May 29th weighting 5lbs 5oz and 18 1/2 inches long.  She is tiny but she is beautiful and perfect. Now that she is here I can't imagine having to wait any longer to meet her.  Over all she is doing wonderful. Our only challenge so far is that she did swallow a lot of the meconium, and so she has been trying to get that all up, and has only had two successful breast feedings.  She will latch on, but she is still to full to want to eat.  Hoping all of that will change soon, and that she will have a good feeding today, and hopefully be on our way home soon.

Thank you everyone for all your love and support throughout our pregnancies.  I wish all of you the best with your little bundle of joys!!!!
Now the best part PICS!!!!!

UPDATE- Mallory is doing great today. Dr. came in this morning and told us what the complications were. She had gotten the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck twice which caused her to become stressed at which point made her poop inside the womb. Thank the lord my body new that something wasn't right, and that's when I went into labor.  Upon delivery via RCS she had swallowed a lot of meconium. Gratefully she was able to get all of that out on her own, but had a really hard time with nursing because of her belly already being so full. At this point she has had 4 successful nursing feeds today, and I am so thankful she is doing great latching on, and because of how well she is doing everyone feels comfortable letting her and I go home in the AM :)  Yay!!
