Had my 37 week appt. Last week I was 2 cm dilated and this week I am 3 cm. She said my cervix is very soft, and that as soon as I feel labor pains to come to the hospital because I could have a precipitous labor (under 5 hrs). Just wish they could predict when this will all happen! I'm working from home now though just in case.
Nst and biophysical today. The office is so crowded there are pregnant women standing AND sitting on the floor. Busy Brooklyn hospital aye yay yay. I'm a RCS2 so whenever you guys talk about percents and cm I just nod BC I have no idea what the heck it means haha.
Well my 38 week appt was justs cancelled won't be seen til 39 weeks. Annoying since I have been having contractions on and off since Sunday, which landed me in l&d Monday.. Hopefully something will happen between now and then
Sooooooo....I saw the other Doc at my practice today (for the 1st time) for my reg weekly appt and she saw my blood pressure was only borderline high and is making me do the 24 hour urine collection this weekend even though I am sick and told her that walking there this morning was rough and that I can take my blood pressure at home and it's always normal (and was at the reg doc the other night).
Anyway, I am just kinda pissed. I have to lose a weekend day and collect pee when I feel like shit and we have a ton to do?! Someone remind me she is just being cautious and pre-e is not something to ignore if it does turn out I have it. My regular OB said she thought it was barely high last week and wasn't concerned so it's just frustrating...
I also tested positive for GBS, sigh. Having this cold/viral infection is really making me bitchy because I'm getting bad news while I feel like shit. Please remind me it could be so much worse!
@BMaidPlanner - I had to do the 24 hour urine collection two weekends ago and bring it in a cooler to my baby shower. It's not that bad to do; it's more annoying than anything. It's good that your doctor is being cautious. Pre-e is no joke and can develop suddenly. It's for the best!!
I had my NST and fluid check today. Looking good! I'm very excited to be almost 37 weeks. It's been my mini goal since being put on bed rest two weeks ago.

I'm sorry you're feeling so crummy and I know what a pain the 24 hour catch is. If it helps, it is important, even for borderline high BP. With DS, my BP was borderline high at 37 weeks and a 24 hr catch showed elevated, but not PreE protein levels. 1.5 weeks later, I was induced for severe PreE. PreE can get dangerous quickly and knowing if you are headed in that direction will let your care providers know how closely to monitor you. FX your catch comes out clean!
Came back from my 37/38 week appointment and GBS came back negative (Yay! ) Last week they weighted me and thought I gained 8 lbs in 2 weeks. The OB was a bit worried given my high blood pressure but found no protein in my urine and blood work came back fine. Today they weighted me and I lost 5lbs. I am pretty sure they did something wrong last week or I just got less swollen after being on bed rest for a week.
She still wants me on bed rest and call her if I get any headaches or blurry vision.
Going to interview another pediatrician this afternoon. Hopefully I come up with better questions to ask. The one yesterday went for like 10 mins because I couldn't think of anything to talk about.
So I just got out of my 37 week appt. It's probably the worst appt I've had. Emotionally. I haven't looked at my weight for weeks and I wish I didn't today cause I burst out in tears. I've gained 50 freaking pounds, people! I don't feel like I LOOK like I've gained 50 lbs. how did I DO that??? Maybe the girl at work today was just being sweet when she told me I look cute and like I've only gained in my belly.... Sweet girl. Anyway the midwife tried cheering me up by telling me the unexpected weight is fluid, that my feet are significantly swollen and I have fluid in my abdomen. That didn't make me feel better so she gave me a pelvic lol! Ok so the pelvic wasn't cause I was crying about my weight... It was because she thinks my baby might have flipped breech! Wwwwwwhhhhat!!!! So here I am now, waiting on an ultrasound to determine if she is head down cause midwife couldn't tell by feeling my belly or by an internal exam. *sigh* I'll be back soon with those results.
37 week Appt today went well. Baby is estimated to be an 8.5lb-er! @-) and I'm measuring term (have been for weeks) Gbs test today and cervix check. A loose 3cm and 40% effaced. Doc suggested we get done everything we're still pending asap. And said she'd be surprised if he wasn't out by the end of the weekend. (She also said could still be another week or 3... lol) So last thing to scratch off the list is a cradle or rock n play for our room to get us through the first few weeks.

@chersomething I know it can be emotional. The ladies here are right though, it's so normal. Be kind to yourself, this late in the game it's too easy to look in the mirror and see problems that aren't there. xoxo
Thanks for all your advice on my appt today too ladies, it made me feel so much better. xo
Well I had my 39 week appointment. My doctor asked me if I wanted to be induced today or I could wait a week. I chose to wait. I'm going back to have a fluid check u/s and discuss when I'm going to be induced. Likely next Thursday if LO hasn't decided to show her face before then. She's way up there still...just as I suspected. She's too comfy in there....time to start the eviction!

BPP and 36 week appointment. Fluid went down since Monday, from 9 to 7.1. And my bp is too high, so OB put me on Labetolol twice a day. I had GBS done and got checked. Cervix is closed but 20% effaced. That was soooooo uncomfortable! I thought it would feel like a pap, but he was like reaching in my throat lmao.
Re: Friday Appointments
Good luck to everyone else too!
