How did you get pregnant?

With my two girls we charted, used opks, temps, used fertility friend, met with MW before hand to discuss getting pregnant, took soy isoflavon, preseed and the biggie, Tubal reversal.

What did you do to get pregnant?
Or what did your baby carrier do to get pregnant?

We charted for BBT for 8 months, then let the fertility clinic handle the monitoring for 3 months.  Had one unsuccessful clomid assisted IUI, then took 3 months off while moving/getting set up at a new clinic and at our let's-try-this-again appointment, learned we were barely (3ish weeks) pregnant!

First month trying we had sex on the day I had EWCM, got pregnant, but it was a chemical pregnancy and ended at 5 weeks.  Next month did the same thing, got pregnant again and it stuck.

We started trying naturally about four years ago and had five losses within that time with lots of sanity breaks in between. This pregnancy was our first medicated cycle (Clomid with trigger shot without an IUI). I have always used OPKs and never charted. My medicated cycle I was monitored about every other day leading up to my trigger so there really wasn't a need for an OPK but I used one anyway to confirm.

Stopped taking BC, and for two cycles had sex on the fertile days.  We were lucky/blessed.

With our first it took 5 months, no charting or temps, just sex whenever.

This time we thought it would take months if not longer so we figured we'd start trying now and be pregnant by fall/winter.  BAM we got the BFP first try.

It happened so much quicker the 2nd time around!!

Charting, temping, OPKs for a year. Then we started seeing a RE and had a HSG, HSN, hysteroscopy and laparoscopy to remove Endo and some polyps and prep for IVF. I got pregnant the next cycle.

I stopped BC in December and we started "trying" in January because I had heard it would take a few months. Had no idea what we were doing timing-wise so missed FW.

In Feb did temping, OPKs, and EOD sex and got the BFP : ) surprised but very happy it happened so quickly.

We were not trying to avoid getting pregnant. It took 8 months with this one, 14 months with DS.

This one...we had sex. DS was away for a night so I know exactly when conception happened :)

Our first kiddo took over a year though.  We didn't do much in terms of temping etc. I was irregular from BC so we knew it would take some time.  We decided to stop "trying" for a while and made an appointment with my OB to talk about what I should do in terms of getting my cycle back under control.  That month we got pregnant (I think it was because the stress/worry was gone).

That pregnancy did end at 5 weeks. We planned on taking a break/not trying for a few months but I didn't want to go back on BC or anything like that as I was finally regular again.

Next month, BAM! pregnant with DS.  I didn't even have a cycle in-between the loss and DS,

First pregnancy with my DD we tried for 2 years. Pre-pregnancy appts and all kind of testing in those two years. I did opk, charting, and temping. Took pnv, folic acid and dha the entire time. Hubs even took geritol (a friend that is a MW said that every time she asked a husband to take it they were successful in getting pg). OB/GYN decided it was time to try Clomid for 3 months then if no luck see a fertility specialist. We (I) decided I wasn't comfortable with taking meds at that point and we basically quit trying (no charting, opk, temping). I was pregnant the next month.
This time we decided we were ready to start trying for #2 and I was pregnant two months later. We were shocked it happened so quickly.

2 yrs TTC, diagnosed PCOS and anovulation.
Clomid worked wonders for me and had DS1 and DS2 thanks to that wonder of a drug.
This pregnancy- well, just happened. No clomid. Apparently I ovulated on my own this time and we were shocked but so happy!

DD was a total whoops.  A  great whoops and perfectly timed.  We had been together for 8 years, lived together practically from day one.  We were comfortable and getting a little stagnant.   She was exactly what we needed to get our relationship going again.  I like to think she decided it was time.

With this pregnancy, we made the decision to start trying in February.  Believe me,  we weren't trying hard at all.  I think we had sex a handful of times that month.  I am not even sure when I ovulated.   BOOM... pregnant.

I am lucky to have not any trouble conceiving so far,  but I think about all the women struggling everyday.

The first pregnancy I just made sure we had sex at least once a day every day for the week while I was ovulating.

This time around we did every other day and that didn't work so the following month we did every day and it worked!

I do realize how blessed I am that it happened so easily and as "planned" !!

With DS, we did clomid with U/S to time ovulation with shot then timed intercourse x 3 cycles. Then we paused, went to Florida for vacay, and just got pregnant randomly.

With this pregnancy, we just charted temps for 4 months.

Well, I was charting and temping and using fertility friend...then we stopped in August, so I guess you can't really say that we used any of this for baby.

I was still on prenatals though.  So I guess we just bumped uglies at the right time...

Oh, and there was a bottle or two of wine involved :)

Miracles of modern science and incredible generosity of a woman and her family.

We had 3 IUIs, 4 surgeries, 3 IVFs, 3 pregnancies, 3 losses, 3.5 years of non-stop medical treatments, then lawyers, doctors, psychiatrists and finally one successful frozen embryo transfer into our gestational carrier.

Last night someone heard our abbreviated story and asked how much all this cost (how rude!).
I just said, "Priceless and worth every penny"

@Lincoln79 I am so interested in hearing more of your story.  I hope that isn't intrusive or rude.
