Obviously I'm not trained, I never said anything about knowing, I was asking for harmless opinions of what they think about the line theory I'm not asking for a definite answer. It's harmless fun just like old wives tales. Not meant for people to try to act like I don't know that the tech is just doing her job because she was not sure since it was early. I'm the one who stated that in the first place. It's just a harmless question goodness gracious.
Sincerely, a pregnant woman's hormones.
You see, but we don't see it as 'harmless fun'. If we try to answer you in a serious way and then others lurk this post and take what we say for real it perpetuates this ridiculousness. If you lurk about a little you'd see that the 'what sex is my baby posts' never go well. Most of us prefer to just wait until a proper anatomy scan done by a tech to find out. If you really want to have people make guesses for you I suggest finding a different site. About half of them will be right!
On a personal note I really don't understand the 'just for funsies' mentality of 1. posting a crotch shot of your baby and 2. asking complete strangers to take a guess at what they are seeing. Maybe I'm no fun though, because I hate old wives tales and guessing games in general.... I like me some good old science.
Most of the time the sonographer should be able to tell the sex of the baby by about 20 weeks of pregnancy.
The correct visualization of any fetal part depends on many factors such as fetal position, amount of amniotic fluid and thickness of the abdominal wall.
The absence of the penis must not be taken as sufficient evidence of the fetus being a girl. Using ultrasound the 3 lines sign which denotes the labia in the fetus is an indication of the female gender.
Ultrasound scans done in later pregnancy or 3D scans can make it easier to see the gender of a baby. The sonographer may not always get a good view of the private parts of the fetus for many reasons and therefore may not be able to give you an accurate answer.
Some sonographers are not allowed to tell you the gender, but may show the genital area on the screen and let you decide which sex your baby is
Re: :)
Be patient, your baby's sex will not change between now and your next scan.

These posts never end without wadded panties.
