Babies on the Brain

Oh, the irony.

As some of you recall, I posted a while back about a family friend who is expecting. She took an "early sex determination" kit around 11 weeks to see what she was having. The test said she was having a boy. She just found out today she is in fact having a girl. She had a name picked out and told everyone it was a boy. People are now freaking out asking what happened. I can't help but laugh because all she had to do was wait for a real sonogram. Moral of the story, folks..... Do not trust $35 sex determination kits.

  • Well the test is can only be 50% accurate.... doesn't anyone know that? Lol it is quite funny though!
  • I'm a little drunk, but this cracked me up haha

  • She posted something today saying again that she cannot believe its a girl, and how she isn't prepared for it at all. I feel like a jerk but I just can't stop laughing to myself about this.

Is that what the test is called? I never knew its name. @MandJS - she picked out only a boy name and decorated the nursery in boy things, from what I heard. It never occurred to her to wait for the anatomy scan.

Yep. I will never understand why people put stock in that. I mean, think about it...you pee in a cup every appointment and they can't tell you the baby's sex without an u/s or genetic screening. Common sense.
