Anybody recognize this rash?

Ds2 has had this spotty rash above his penis for nearly a week. It hasn't spread much if at all. I have been giving extra air time and patting him dry at changes. I also have been liberally applying CJs butter plus to him at most changes to try and help it. He is in a combination of BG 4.0s and fitteds.
Does it look more like heat rash or maybe yeast? I am a bit lost. Sorry for the crappy pic, took it while changing him in the back of the car.

Has anything changed about your wash routine?  My DS got a rash that started out like that when I switched to Tide.

No change that I can think of @BoothBaby.  We've been using Tide for at least a couple months now and no changes in my wash routine.

Detergent sensitivities can happen over time, just like detergent build up.

I don't know what the cause of that rash is. Try some air time to help it clear up while troubleshooting.

I'm not sure what the rash is either, but you might try something thicker than CJ's to protect the skin. Grandma El's or Waxelene perhaps. Or even Grovia Magic Stick.

What is your current wash routine?

You said it hasn't really spread. Has it gotten any better, or does it seem better sometimes, then it flares up again? 

You might try a hot water strip (just wash your clean diapers in only hot water a few times to get any possible build-up out) just to see if that helps.

We're had a rash like that on and off.

At first I thought it was the start of a yeast rash... But it would go away on its own, so that means not yeast.

I'm wondering if it's something to do with his BG 4.0s.  That rash is right along the top where the microsuede is but no insert, so maybe wetness? I point his penis down so I wouldn't think it gets that wet and I change him every 1.5 hours, sometimes 2 hours if I get late. 

It did seem a bit better this morning and today I'm going to just use fitteds to see if it goes away. We're moving away from the BGs anyhow, so if it's them I won't be too sad.

Not that this is what you want to hear. But we get that rash in Elementals and prefolds. So for us it isn't a microsuade thing.

I hope you get some resolve. It sure is a pain dealing with rashes!

So I haven't put him in a BG 4.0 for just over a day and it seems better.  I was trying to just put natural materials on him, but forgot and put a MotherEase Air Flow cover on him this morning, and as soon as I took it off around his legs he had bright red angry looking skin.  

He has spent the rest of the day in his TTs and his skin is calming down.  I switched to coconut oil too. I don't have Waxelene, not even sure they sell it in Canada? 

I'm thinking I will keep him in natural fibres for another day or two, then try with one BG. If it comes back I will have an answer.

Hahaha, luckily I have a bunch of cheap MotherEase OS fitteds I can use.  They get the job done, only down side is he soaks through them in one pee without a cover.  The TTs he can last 2 hours and will still be dry on the outside. And they are cute.  I've already sold off some of my higher value BGs so I can buy more cute diapers.  The BGs I cannot get the best fit with for some reason.

Yeah, I'm on the fan page too.  I've only traded on their though. I've done pretty well at stockings, this past week I didn't like anything, but the week before I managed to score 4 boy diapers that I liked.  I just sold more of my BGs so I have enough paypal for a few more!

I'm starting to think this rash might be detergent related now, he has small, flat, red spots (like the size of pimples) up high on his hip today.  

We've been using powder Tide original, now I have no idea what to try since RnG wasn't working great for us.
