Hi Ladies,
A bit shocked and feeling pessimistic after a phone call today with follow up results from my first ultrasound yesterday. We saw baby, and its heartbeat: the nurse told us at the first visit they primarily check for three things: heartbeat, crown to rump measurements, and whether or not the baby was found in the uterus- all which she seemed happy about. I got a call today requesting that I schedule to come in again for a second look as the radiologist noticed one of my fallopian tubes looked thicker than normal and that it could possibly be a Cornual Ectopic Pregnancy. To make matters worse, she said if I felt any abdominal cramping or felt light headed, I needed to get to the hospital right away as it could mean the fallopian tube has ruptured and could cause severe internal bleeding. She wasn't the best messenger and of course threw in "Ultrasounds are not always 100%"- I felt it to be very wishy washy and I am feeling not so hopeful for tomorrow's follow up ultrasound. (which I then will also have to wait for results for) Anyone ever heard of this or had experience? Gonna be a long couple days. :-(

I am all over the place emotion-wise. I'm not generally a very optimistic person. Hopefully I will be back with some answers tomorrow.
Anyways...when I had surgery they found out I had one big and one little Fallopian tube (where my baby implanted)...anyways you may just have some asymettrical tubes and they picked that up in your US. T&Ps you are all okay.
Anyways...with my ectopic I did not spot or bleed externally so my doctors office brushed me off with round ligament pain. They refused to see me even though I called Wednesday -Friday every day with concern. I almost didn't go to the ER that fateful Friday night as I thought they would laugh me out of the ER since I wasn't bleeding...even though I was in terrible pain. Watch out for these symptoms, as after my loss I realized a lot of medical professionals are idiots.
Dizzyness
Painful lightning crotch and bowel movements
Cramps that turn into a stabbing sensation (my pain was actually centered in my back and not on the right side where the ectopic was found)
Feeling hot and cold at the same time. Clammy sweat.
I had all of those symptoms the week I ruptured.
I actually fainted after they gave me methotrexate...and when I still wasn't bleeding an hour later the nurse took my blood pressure and it was 60 over something. So she ended up not letting me leave, which saved my life. My doctor wanted to hurry and release me so she could deliver babies. Anyways... I had over a unit of blood on my stomach with no external bleeding.
I don't want to scare you but please take care of yourself, be proactive with your care, and when in doubt get a second opinion. I'm leaving the grizzly details out...but I'll be sending T&Ps your way that it is nothing and your LO is nestled safely in your uterus.
My ultrasound seemed routine...transvaginal- went right in and immediately saw the gestation sac, fetal pole, and yolk sac...no real searching around. Baby measured accurately to LMP. Just very confused.
I see you have two beautiful children. Was the ectopic in between their pregnancies and if so was conceiving again difficult? Thanks so much for sharing your story!
Do not read dr google....it will depress you and it's not totally accurate with the stats. Stay far, far away
I actually conceived my boys after the EP. Strangely my ectopic took me longest to conceive at 10 months. My oldest will be 3 in October and my baby just turned 1.
A side note, I had an US at 4.5 weeks to rule out ectopic and another one tomorrow to get my due date. I'm only 6ish weeks right now so we'll see how it looks tomorrow.
US is today at 2:30 but most likely will have to wait for actual readings of results. I will let you all know how it goes. Thanks for your support!
