For those of us who still have inside babies, I'm curious what you are doing to prepare yourself, ahem, down there. Knowing that you could go into labor at any time, what is the status of your lady area?

I've given up trying to shave down there. Last time I tried to do it by feel and thought I must have done a pretty good job until I got out of the shower and saw my reflection in the bathroom mirror.

I keep trimmed as best as I can. Probably doesn't look very pretty, but I can't see it anyways so I don't care.

I stay groomed for my own sake. I figure the doctors don't care either way. It's just my preference for myself.

I was successful up until this week by aid of a mirror. Now…that doesn't work anymore. Not quite sure what I'm going to do for the last couple of weeks. Maybe find a person nearby that waxes…but it's a small town. Could be a terrible idea!

I actually have an "appointment" tonight with DH.  He does the "landscaping" for me nowadays since I can't see it.

DH helped me with my pre-birth trim this weekend. He used clippers so the hair is there, but short. I just wanted to avoid the matted post-partum yuck that occurred after DS's birth. Otherwise I wouldn't care to trim at all.

A few weeks ago, I gave up my regular Brazilian for a generous bikini wax.  Although I can't see it, DH was making comments.  I have one more appointment before my EDD.

I said SS. Groom if you want and if it makes you feel more prepared, but I guarantee no healthcare personnel is going to care one way or another.
With the exception of possibly needing to shave the top of your bikini line to accommodate a c-section incision, your pubic hair will not get in the way of your delivery.

I've just been shaving by feel and hoping it doesn't look too awful! I'm really not too concerned though. The doctors have seen everything.

DH has offered to help knowing that I hate not staying groomed down there. However, I don't trust him to do it lol I shaved last weekend including my legs and I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did. Especially since I didn't use any mirrors or anything. I may muster up the energy to shave one more time, but worth 3 weeks left, I doubt it.

Mine was getting out of control. So this morning before my appt I decided to attempta trimming. Used scissors and went in blind. I am sure it's not pretty but it's not ridiculously long anymore. I'm hoping that will make it better as far as post partum bleeding and such goes.

I have been attempting to shave once every few weeks just to keep it from getting "curly" long.  I like to keep trimmed when I'm on AF because it makes me feel like I can keep cleaner, so I figure post-partum I'll want to be reasonably short. 

The last time I shaved I thought I did a really good job... Until I looked in the mirror the next day and saw a long patch of missed fuzz right at the top of my bikini line.  I couldn't care less about how it looks though, and I'm sure my midwife couldn't care less either.  Just like to keep short-ish because it makes me feel cleaner!

Yeah, nothing doing.  Normally I keep it trimmed with clippers so it's short, and then shave my bikini line as needed.  Right now, nothing is happening down there.  I'm not going in blind and having seen DH's face after he shaves...he's not going near my vagina with anything even beginning to resemble a blade!  I figure docs don't care and right now everything else down there is so uncomfortable that a little extra hair isn't making a hell of a lot of difference.

I tried about a month ago and it was patchy at best.  I'm over it.

I had been shaving (semi-)regularly for a while, then I cut myself and got an ingrown hair. :-( I'm gonna start trying again with a mirror, it's just starting to get too itchy!!

The doctors have seen it all so I'm not concerned about how they feel about my bush lol. But as soon as I feel like labor is here bet your bottom dollar I'll be making her pretty hahaha. She has to be camera ready!

A little over a week ago in the tub I did and impromptu full shave, I figured this would hold me over till I deliver ;as I have no intention of going near that area with a razor in the near future

I shave blindly and by feel. Start shaving, feel around for patches, rinse and repeat.

I hate hair down there and it makes me gag thinking of the bloody hairy mess that PP will bring when I can't shave until all healed.

Ditto, my sister. I can't see and I'm super afraid I'll cut myself and then won't be able to treat it because I can't see. I definitely don't trust hubby with a razor or scissors don't there. We haven't gotten to that level yet. LOL

I'm a combo of the last two...I try and keep it tame but can't see anything! Plus we have been told no sex, so what's the point lol I have an internal exam tmw so, I'm sure I'll give it a go the am then when I go into labour

Aw man... I totally never thought about the potential PP mess! :-S I've been hating all the hair but gave up a while ago beyond trimming.
Looks like I will have to make a better effort! I tried last week to take care of bikini line since we were going to a beach party but even after 25 minutes and the going by feel thing it was not pretty once I put the suit on. Ended up wearing a sarong all day.

I shave by completely feel now that I can no longer see even part of it (not always pretty or complete but mostly effective). I could care less what my doc thinks about it, it's just more comfortable for me.

I'm no longer pregnant, but I shaved all the way up until delivery day. At the end, it was all by memory and feeling. I'm shocked I never cut myself haha!

At this point I've about given up, especially after my prenatal Pilates teacher told us a horror story about cutting herself with scissors when she was preg!

@gatormom2014, I bought a Conair beard and mustache trimmer.  You can get straight up bikini trimmers, I think, but I found the beard one when I needed one and it's the same size.  It's an easy search on amazon.

@gatormom2014 - I use this disposable one, it's pretty decent. I used to use small scissors but switched to this when I could no longer see what I was cutting.

Recently Target had a buy 2, get a $5 gift card, so I got a couple. This was after I found out DH was using it to trim his armpit hair (gag!), so I got him his own.
