But I thought I would share it with you guys in case that one of you might be in a similar situation. My family had a rough 2013, we lost both of my parents. I lost my mom in March 2013 to lung cancer, which we found out about as a result of our wedding reception. Then we got our BFP in September and lost my dad in October of 2013. Throughout this pregnancy, we have been dealing with the estate matters and things of that nature. Anyhow, in the process of the estate sale and all of that, the pictures that my mom had put away for me have somehow disappeared. I don't know where they went. My brother hasn't seen them, etc. My dad was cleaning out things after mom passed away, and I don't know if he moved them somewhere but regardless--I don't have them. These pictures were from when I was born all the way through my wedding. Vacations, Christmases, etc. Having lost those memories and things has really bothered me.
I wanted to be sure that this didn't happen for Landon, but we weren't sure how we could do it. My DH saw a a video that I think is an advertisement for Google Chrome, and sent it to me:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R4vkVHijdQk. Needless to say, hormonal me bawled like a baby, but this is exactly what I was looking for. This way, we can send pictures and videos to an email address for him throughout his life and one day, when he is old enough to appreciate it, he can have the password. Then everything is already in one place and he can have it forever (assuming the internet lasts forever).
Anyway, I didn't know if anyone else might find comfort in this so I thought I would share!
Re: I can't claim this idea...
We set up an email address for LO to be able to do this. One of our friends has done this for their kids and it's such a great way to save memories.
