I'm taking prometrium twice a day bc I've miscarried years ago for low progesterone levels. It makes me so tired & very irritable. Is anyone else experiencing these side effects from progesterone?
*raises hand* It also makes me super dizzy and nauseated. At least, I feel like that's the case. I had manageable fatigue and zero dizziness and minimal nausea before being put on it (and absolutely ZERO of those symptoms with DD's pregnancy-- every one is different, yes, but I don't like taking something that makes me so dizzy I can't walk across a room without falling over. Oh and I have a toddler... Ugh). Since I've been on it, within 2 days, it's like impossible for my body to wake up before like 2 PM. I drag until mid afternoon. I know this progesterone is supposed to be helping the pregnancy, but I'm seriously going to ask my OB on Monday how long I NEED to keep taking it because I can't deal with how bad the side effects are.
Are you taking it orally or as a vaginal suppository? I believe you have less side effects if you take it as a suppository, which is what I do. If you are taking it orally, maybe ask if you can change the way you take it? The only downside is how messy it can get.

I just finished ~35 days of shots of progesterone. I just assumed the "symptoms" were pregnancy related. I havent had a shot since Monday and I'm still exhausted so I assume its the first tri symptom for me. Your body naturally produces it in pregnancy so it makes sense that it would "cause" pregnancy symptoms.
I am having a lot of symptoms with my oral progesterone. I started out with suppositories, and had almost no symptoms, but the suppositories were almost 5x's more expensive and my insurance sucks ass.
I've been moody, gotten headaches, upset stomach and fatigue since starting it. I've been taking b12, which helps the headaches and when I take it with food, my stomach doesn't hurt as bad.
So I do feel your pain, but would suggest suppositories as well, but I'm not a medical professional, it's only my personal experience.

I'm on Crinone- one of the suppositories- twice a day. Pantyliners are a must. I am bloated which is probably a side effect from this. I still think I need to be on it for 2 more weeks.
