Re: Random GTKY

  • 1. What has been your favorite stage with your LO so far?  If you have older children, what was your favorite stage with them?  I'm loving the stage she is currently in (10 weeks).  I miss the teeny tiny newborn days, but she's so fun right now.  She's smiling and laughing a lot more, and she's learning new things literally overnight.

    2. If you had to choose one, would you rather your child be the bully, or the bullied?  I was bullied as a kid for a few years, and it absolutely kills me to think of my LO going through that.  However I'd hate worse for her to have an ugly personality and hurt others.  I still see bullying going on as an adult, we have a few in my office, but I don't let her get to me and I've noticed she leaves me alone because I've stood up to her.  I think my bullying as a kid helped me to be stronger and become more assertive in my adulthood.  However I know that's not the case for everyone which makes me sad....so if I had to choose, I guess I'd rather her be bullied and hope she grows stronger because of it.

    3. What is your least favorite every day chore?  Dishes (when there are a lot of them) and mopping the floor.

    4. What is your least favorite once in a while chore?  Cleaning up cat puke

    5. Your favorite every day chore?  I really don't mind laundry, especially since getting our new washer and dryer

    6. Your favorite once in a while chore?  When the bug hits me, I enjoy deep cleaning, getting rid of stuff, and cleaning the stuff you usually ignore.

    7. Did you collect anything as a child (or now)?  In my late teens and even early adulthood I collected sun, moon and star things.  My room at my parents house looked like the solar system threw up in there....sun and moon quilt, knickknacks, pictures on the wall, pillows, I even had the glow in the dark stars on my ceiling.  I have a sun and moon tattoo on my ankle (my first tattoo).  I gradually grew out of it, but I still have a few of my knickknacks and stuff.

  • 1. What has been your favorite stage with your LO so far? If you have older children, what was your favorite stage with them?
--Right now she is so fun. She smiles so much and tried to mimic me. I was not a fan of the newborn stage when she didn't interact with me.

    2. If you had to choose one, would you rather your child be the bully, or the bullied?
--I guess I'd rather have my child be bullied and learn to stick up for herself. I wouldn't want her to be mean to others and be the bully.

    3. What is your least favorite every day chore?
-- I hate doing dishes. I usually leave them for as long as possible or until DH puts them away.

    4. What is your least favorite once in a while chore?
--Cleaning the office. We always just pile stuff in there and leave it for weeks. It's always messy so I say why bother.

    5. Your favorite every day chore?
--Probably vacuuming and cleaning the floors. I don't know why, maybe because then my feet don't pick up dirt (we have hardwood floors)

    6. Your favorite once in a while chore?
--Weeding. I jutst enjoy being outside. I really don't mind weeding. It makes my beds look so nice when they are cleared out.

    7. Did you collect anything as a child (or now)?
--Mainly random crap when I was a kid. I refuse to collect anything now because I can't stand clutter. I did have quite a collection of barbies and stuffed animals though.

  • 1. What has been your favorite stage with your LO so far?  If you have older children, what was your favorite stage with them?
I love this stage right now where I get smiles and coos :) melts my heart! With my older boys I loved the 4 year old stage. Omg they were so moveable and such mamas boys!

    2. If you had to choose one, would you rather your child be the bully, or the bullied?
Neither, if they are a bully I would be disappointed in them and discipline. I would never want my child to be a bullied I want them to stand up for themselves.

    3. What is your least favorite every day chore?
Sweeping! Wood floors and a house full of boys= constant dirty floors!

    4. What is your least favorite once in a while chore?
    Cleaning the fridge

    5. Your favorite every day chore?
Who has time for chores everyday? Not me!

    6. Your favorite once in a while chore?
    Mowing the grass

    7. Did you collect anything as a child (or now)?
    Garbage Pale(sp?) Kids cards
  • 1. What has been your favorite stage with your LO so far?  right now! she's happy mostly during the day and sleeps great. she is becoming more and more interactive (giggling, smiling...)

    2. If you had to choose one, would you rather your child be the bully, or the bullied? the bully...and hope that I could help change their behavior.

    3. What is your least favorite every day chore? I would say the kitty litter, but luckily dh has been taking care of since I got KU and hasn't stopped...so hope that it keeps up!

    4. What is your least favorite once in a while chore? cleaning out the fridge or pantry...we waste way too much food!

    5. Your favorite every day chore? taking care of lo ;) right now just tidying up or cleaning her bottles at night is relaxing enough for me that I "enjoy" it.

    6. Your favorite once in a while chore? organizing/purging. I do love to clean...but only if the house is organized (which is never because my dh is a hoarder).

    7. Did you collect anything as a child (or now)? not really. we try to get shot glasses when we travel places, that's about it.
  • 1. What has been your favorite stage with your LO so far? If you have older children, what was your favorite stage with them?
Right now for sure! He's 12 weeks and interacting/smiling/"talking"... I love it.

    2. If you had to choose one, would you rather your child be the bully, or the bullied?
Neither. But if I HAD to choose I would say be the one bullied. I was off and on and I feel like I'm a stronger person because of it. I've seen too many people who were the "mean kids" in school who are still that way. I would hate for my child to be an ugly person in that respect.

    3. What is your least favorite every day chore?
    Dishes.

    4. What is your least favorite once in a while chore?
    Cleaning the toilet.

    5. Your favorite every day chore?
Dusting/wiping down surfaces. Just makes me feel good :)

    6. Your favorite once in a while chore?
    Organizing anything.

    7. Did you collect anything as a child (or now)?
I think I went through a Beanie Baby phase.
  • 1. What has been your favorite stage with your LO so far? If you have older children, what was your favorite stage with them?

Always the one he's in at the moment!

    2. If you had to choose one, would you rather your child be the bully, or the bullied?

Bullied. I was bullied and it was awful, but I learned from it. If my kid becomes a bully, I would be seriously worried about their morality.

    3. What is your least favorite every day chore?

    Folding and putting away laundry.

    4. What is your least favorite once in a while chore?

    Cleaning out the fridge.

    5. Your favorite every day chore?

    Cooking!

    6. Your favorite once in a while chore?

Getting rid of things! Sorting and organizing, too. And ironing.

    7. Did you collect anything as a child (or now)?

Rocks as a kid. Books always and forever!

The older and more interactive he gets to more I'm enjoying this mom thing. I loved him from the BFP but damn newborns are hard!

    2. If you had to choose one, would you rather your child be the bully, or the bullied?
Bully I guess, but only because DH and I would stop that nonsense cold as soon as we heard about it.

    3. What is your least favorite every day chore?
Emptying the dishwasher. It was one of my chores as a kid and I still resent it at little.

    4. What is your least favorite once in a while chore?
Mopping. It's just such a hassle.

    5. Your favorite every day chore?
Cooking. Unfortunately it leads to me having to do my least favorite chore.

    6. Your favorite once in a while chore?
Organizing my closet. I usually find things I forgot I owned.

    7. Did you collect anything as a child (or now)?
In my teens and 20s I collected shot glasses from my travels but I haven't bought one in years.
