I leave on Sunday for a work trip to West Africa. It's a huge conference that I organize every year. Last year, DS was 6 months old and I brought him and our nanny because I was still breastfeeding. This year, I'm going alone. I've never spent more than 2 nights away since he was born and I'm dreading how much I'll miss him. And it doesn't help that he's going through a fierce "mama phase" right now so I think he's going to be upset a lot.
I need a pep talk along the lines of "you aren't the first working mother in the history of the world- suck it up!"
What do you have for me?
