Hello all!!  I am sorry about the delay.  I thought the check ins were Wednesdays :P

This is my first check in to post so I am not sure I did it correctly.  So please let me know if I did something wrong!  I am still getting used to figuring out who is graduating and so please bare with me as I stumble thru the check ins for a little bit. 

AFM:  I will be 15 weeks tomorrow and we told DH's side of the family the gender.  I am feeling very good health wise. I got my doppler on Friday and have been able to find Ellie's heartbeat a couple of times, which makes me feel soo much better.  Next appointment is not until the 4th. 

Hope it is going well for all you other mommas out there!

GTKY: My favorite story (really my only good one) is when I was younger a local radio station used to have a summer concert and after they artist would perform they would sign autographs.  Well, way before they got popular N*Sync was performing and I went to get their autographs, by the time I got to the front of the line they were done and walking off.  Well I was next so Justin Timberlake said I could still come up and get my autograph and he gave me a hug.  Well while he was hugging me he said to one of the other band members "I have a beautiful girl in my arms what do you have?"  and then he let go gave my may autograph and walked back stage.  Very cool now... back then I thought it was kind weird. lol

Hi everyone!  17 weeks today, I had an appointment on Friday to check in and the baby still has a strong heart beat in the 150's, just wish that I could feel him/her move!  Next appointment is our A/S on June 12.

QOTW- I've had some celebrity sightings here and there but nothing too exciting, I saw Owen Wilson riding a bike in NYC.

Ashris13 yes they are the best!  Our older dog is amazing, she's got the best personality, so smart and just loves everyone.  The younger dog is a bit of a handful, but he's making progress :-)

Can I please be added?  I am 14w today, due 11/25.  We don't know the sex yet, but we will find out.  We have our second OB appointment tomorrow to check on the baby, although I'm pretty sure they will just use the doppler.  I had some anxiety that came up Friday about not seeing the baby for a month (and maybe another one) so hopefully tomorrow will calm my fears. 

QOTW - let's see, probably the best was seeing Ryan Gosling in Vegas when I was there for a friend's bachelorette party about 7 years ago.  We walked right past him and his dog and then realized who it was and quickly yelled "we love you ryan", when he turned back and waved.  Should have taken a picture!!

Hi ladies!  Yesterday was the 17 week mark for me!  I finally told my boss today but only because he announced he was leaving the company & his last day is Friday.  I feel like I haven't been to the doctor in forever!  I sure am missing my every other week appts with my RE.  Our next check-up is 6/4 & hopefully we can find out the gender.  I also ordered a fetal doppler that should be delivered today so I can't wait to get home & use it.  

QOTW:  My friend & I saw Matthew McConaughey at a bar in Vegas a couple of years ago.  We didn't approach him but were able to get some pics at a distance which was good enough for me!

I am doing really well. I passed the 3hr glucose (yay!) and my dog, Otis, is doing much better too. I can feel baby girl everyday now. Lately she has taken to kicking so hard in the mornings that my stomach is just bouncing all over the place. DH still won't touch my belly - it freaks him out that there is a baby in there! I am just freaked out that I am moving onto the 3rd tri! This weekend DH put up a chair rail in the nursery and we already received the bedding set from a friend who can't attend the shower. It is slowly starting to come together! My next appointment is in two weeks, but we have our hospital tour this Saturday!

QOTW: I did an internship at Meet The Press in college, so I met quite a few prominent politicians and journalists. But the best sighting has to be Mario Lemieux. I have seen him and talked to him a few times, but DH is the real hockey and Penguins fan, even though he didn't grow up in Pittsburgh. Well, we were at a birthday-anniversary celebration dinner downtown and he came in and sat at the table right next to us. DH wouldn't even look at him. Of course DH didn't want to interrupt his dinner or anything, but the fact that he wouldn't even glance over at his childhood hero was pretty funny to watch. A few years later we ran into Sidney Crosby and a bunch of other Penguins at another restaurant and he handled. It slightly better, but was still super weird about it.

I am 23w1d today. Next appointment is just a routine appointment next thursday, so nothing special for a while. Feeling LO kick more often, in fact yesterday DH was able to see a kick. I am feeling like my stomach is getting huge, but I keep being told I am fairly small compared to most people. DH and I are starting to talk names. We are staying team green so we need to come up with at least one boy and one girl name. Oh and my birthday was this weekend so it was nice to have friends come over and celebrate. Another year older but glad I'm pregnant and things are going good.

QOTW: I live in a suburb of Orlando and work for a major theme park so I've seen a few. I've also heard plenty of stories from others about how celebrities act at Disney and Universal. When I first moved down here I was pretty shocked to go to Jellyrolls (its a piano bar at one of the resorts) and NSYNC's Joey Fatone was there. He actually got up on stage and sang. I thought it was pretty cool until I realized how many celebrities really come here.

I'm 26 weeks and besides tiring out easily am feeling pretty well. Hip pain is making it harder to sleep but I got one of those snoogle pillows second hand and it's definitely helping. I had my GTT this morning (not as yucky as I thought - I chose the orange flavor). I don't have any more appts for a week or two. I'm feeling the babies move a lot which is very reassuring. Since my shower I've been in super nursery prep mode and am excited about how it's coming along. Got the crib mattresses today! Next project is figuring out curtains. Also, if anyone here was part of the cord blood banking discussion - we've decided against private banking. After doing some reading and speaking to my friend who is a researcher in the stem cell field who thinks the private banking is basically a scam, we've decided against it. 

QOTW: I got to meet Hillary Clinton at a political fundraiser - that was awesome! The fundraiser was for Eliot Spitzer, which in retrospect is not so awesome. Oh well.

I'll be 25 weeks on Thursday and everything seems to be going well. I feel baby girl daily and have started to get a feel for her sleeping patterns (which I hope she keeps up!). Had my 24 week appt on Friday and did my 1 hour GTT...here's hoping everything comes back a-ok! DH finally bought paint for the nursery and I'm going to try to clean it out this week so he can paint while I'm at work this weekend. I am definitely showing now and get comments about how much I've "popped" in the last few weeks. Yesterday, I saw my grandmother for the first time since I announced at the end of March and she wouldn't stop rubbing my belly (I told her to make a wish). It really freaks me out when ppl go to touch my stomach like that, but she's turning 80 in October and hasn't been in the best health...so I'll let it slide :-)

My back is really starting to bother me...especially the area around my bra strap. I had problems in that area before I lost all the weight, so I think my belly is starting to put some strain on my body. I'll have to start getting back into my daily yoga routine so I can keep everything limber.

QOTW: A few years ago, I literally bumped into Nathan Lane outside of his one man show in NYC. He was very polite and apologized profusely...I didn't realize who it was until I took a couple of steps...I turned around to see if I could ask him for an autograph, but he was gone.

20w4d with a boy and a girl! Team purple after all! The tech really did scan the same baby twice last time four weeks ago. Bizarre!! We had our anatomy scan today and everything was picture perfect... Except for my cervix which "funneled" to 2.5. So I'm on couch rest still and progesterone suppositories (200mg nightly) again. Boo! And the doc said I probably won't go back to work in August if my cervix stays like this (I'm a teacher.. ). Another boo. Obviously I'll do what's best for the babies.

Qotw: when I was 12 I convinced my dad to take me and a friend to a car show, of all places, because Mario Lopez and Jonathan Brandis were signing autographs. So I got to meet both of them. Then in high school I won tickets to a meet and greet with the band before a 7 Mary 3 concert (remember them??) but when my friend and I got to the show, we couldn't recognize the band members. So yeah, we didn't meet them. Lol. But they were there!!

I would like to be added!  My name is Katie and I am 14 weeks today and am having twins (EDD: 11/25).  I don't have much to report - everything looked great at our NT scan.  Just had a quick dr. appt today and she found both of the heartbeats.  The anatomy scan is July 2 and I can't wait to know the sex!  We are just starting to tell our extended families and everyone is thrilled (of course!).

QOTW:  The only fun celebrity sighting I can think of off the top of my head is meeting Mariano Rivera (former Yankees pitcher) in Seattle.  We were walking around downtown with our Yankee hats on and a couple guys (also in Yankee gear) came up to us and said, Mariano Rivera is down the block at that Rite Aid!  So we hurried down and he was there!  My husband was completely awe-struck but we got a picture of them together!

I'm 20w4d with twin boys, and they are getting more and more active. Now that I know who is where (for the most part) its fun to pick up on their schedules. Baby B is definitely our night owl... he has kicked me goodnight for the last few nights! I'm hoping I can get DH to feel it soon. Everytime he reaches over they stop! 

We have a regular cervical check on Friday, but nothing more exciting for a few weeks. I'm also flying back to MI in a week and a half to see family, and my sisters are hosting a baby shower for me, I'm so excited to see everyone!

QOTW: I have met Nacho Figueras at a polo game in Wellington, FL. He is as hot in person as he is in the Ralph Lauren ads!

6 months today, 26 weeks tomorrow.  Doc's office called last Thu/Fri to tell me I passed the glucose challenge, so yay for that!  No app'ts for another month.  We had a wonderfully relaxing babymoon over the long weekend, it was lovely to get away for a few days.  I am finally able to sleep 5-6 hours per night reliably (with the occasional 7-hour night which is awesome for me), only waking up once usually.  I got the Leachco Back & Belly pillow which works way better for me than the mini-Snoogle I borrowed from a friend.  The pillowcase it comes with is awful (rough and scratchy even after repeated washings) so I got three soft jersey king-size pillowcases from Target and cut one open and covered it with those.  If I were crafty, I would sew on buttons to hold them together, but I'm not.

QOTW: In high school, on a school trip to NYC, somebody said, "Hey, the guy who does the news on SNL is up ahead!"  "Dennis Miller?!"  "No, the newer guy."  So we all raced down the street and found Kevin Nealon and everybody froze, so I spoke up and said, "Hi Mr. Nealon, we're high school students from PA, would you mind if we took your picture?"  And he was very gracious and said sure, and posed with us.  Then he asked where we were headed next, and I said, "Actually, to your studio.  We're doing the NBC tour."  And he was like, greeeeeaaaaat.  It was funny.  Now I live in LA and I probably encounter celebs fairly often, but I am totally oblivious and don't recognize/notice any of them.

Not much new here. . .just waiting for our next appt which is in 3.5 weeks! The wait is killing me, but I've got lots to keep me busy in the next 2 weeks. Although I'm keeping busy with my 'new' summer job, I'm a co-director for an undergraduate research experience at a university (10 week gig perfect for a pregnant lady). It is pretty easy & we just finished up with all the orientation stuff. I'm just excited for next week to come as we are heading to San Diego for our babymoon. I'm even more excited b/c DH is coming back from China (he will have been there for 3 weeks). I sent him a selfie of my bump and he was amazed at how much it grew. No more hiding it were his words.

QOTW: I stood behind Glenn Close and her daughter, while I was waiting in line to check out in a store in NYC. I didn't say anything to her. Not that this next one is my citing, but for all of you Game of Thrones fans when my husband landed in China he saw Peter Dinklage at the Beijing airport. Of course that was his first message/picture to me, well at least I knew he arrived safely.

Need to do my 2nd trimester screening blood work this week. So far, so good. Still haven't found childcare solution we like.

I will be 19 weeks tomorrow. I felt the baby move Monday morning. I couldn't fall back asleep and felt the flutter. I hope this means I will feel LO more often! I am excited next Thursday is our anatomy scan. We cannot wait! Other than that just a check up with OB on Friday. We are having a yard sale Saturday to make room for Baby. Hopefully I can sell all the bigger items. Going to take all the money and put it towards doing nursery.

QOTW:
When I was a senior in high school my friends and I took a Friday off and went to six flags. We wrapped my ankle in an ace bandage, faked a limp, and rented a wheel chair so we didn't have to wait in line for rides, cause back in 97 we thought we were slick. Gin Blossoms was playing that night, so we were waiting by the wheel chair access for concert telling stories, and who walks up but Robin the lead singer! He was totally cool. Asked about my ankle and I completely blushed and said I was to embarrassed to tell (which I totally was). He signed autographs for us (all I had on me was my honors pass). It was really cool. Later at the show someone through a hat on stage and he wore for a song and tossed it back in the crowd, I caught it! I still have it too in my keepsake box with the autograph.

We are 18w today with twins.

We've had a hellish last five days. Everything is stable now and both babies are doing well, but here's a brief version of our story:

Friday morning at 5am, @Manada woke up to bleed that soaked her underwear. We paged our midwife and she said to meet her at labor and delivery at the hospital. We met her there by 6am and she was able to find both heartbeats on the doppler (thank goodness!). M was still bleeding and we waited with the midwife for the on-call OB. The OB came in with a portable ultrasound and showed us both babies moving and with good heartbeats. She couldn't determine the source of the bleeding but the portable ultrasound was not high quality.
At about 11;15am we finally got in for a real ultrasound. The transvaginal ultrasound showed that M's cervix was 1.9 cm, opened at one point, and was funneling!! We had to wait a few more hours to meet with another OB. Ultimately they decided to send us home to "wait and see" since we had an appointment scheduled for Tuesday with the MFM who is the premiere twins specialist in the country. They said they couldn't do anything about the cervix (like a cerclage) while it was still bleeding.
At the midwife's recommendation, M was on bed/couch rest all weekend. The bleeding stopped by Friday evening and switched over to light dark brown (old blood) for another day then stopped completely. Yesterday (Tuesday) we had our first appointment with the MFM. M's cervix was 2.9, not funneling, and closed. This was very good news. However, the MFM also told us "this is not going to get better" and we had a good, serious talk about the risks and the options. M is now on bed/couch rest possibly for the rest of pregnancy. She is doing 2x per day 200mg progesterone suppositories and we have twice weekly cervical scans-- Tuesdays we do an ultrasound and meet with the MFM; Fridays it's just a cervical scan unless there is a problem and then we stay to meet with the OB on call.
We are now transferred to full care with the MFM (versus the shared care with the midwife that was planned before this). We are terrified but also relieved to know that we're in the best possible hands with this MFM (plus we like him).  Our midwife will continue to provide supportive care.
6 weeks to viability. Obviously we're hoping to make it well beyond that, but this is our first goal, especially after Friday when we thought we had lost or were going to lose the babies.

QOTW: When I was a teenager, I played on a co-ed softball team (I was the only kid) in Chicago that was part of the Chicago Theater League, where all the teams and most of the players had some connection to Chicago theater (my uncle was in the theater, which is how I got connected). Anyway, one of my teammates was Neil Flynn, who played the janitor on Scrubs and now plays the father on The Middle. At the time, he was just getting started in film and television and hadn't gotten his big break yet. He was a totally lovely person. (And very tall!)

New here! I am 15w 3d today with di-di twins. My EDD is 11-16-14. We don't know genders yet but we are hoping to find out a week from today at our next apt/ultrasound. I think I can feel baby b move at the top of my uterus and it's been almost nonstop since about 3am whenever I am laying still. I'm not having any real pregnancy problems which I am grateful for but it's been physically and emotionally draining so far and I'm looking forward to feeling a little better soon I hope!

21w5d. Monthly OB appt yesterday....all's well. Excited because we ordered the crib this past weekend Feeling Cadien move around/kick all day and just loving that part QOTW: got to party with the goo goo dolls and sugar ray before and after a concert 15 years ago my cousin was dating the road manager for the goo goo dolls at the time.....it was AWE-SOME!!!

well i've been MIA... wasnt able to post on the last check in. I have these spurts of major nesting mode and last week was one of them lol. we got a lot of little things fixed around the house and also did the finishing touches on the nursery as far as prepping it for the furniture.

26 weeks today with twins, i want the time to fly quicker so i can finally have them in my arms! i've been feeling ok, same old issues, back pain off and on, constant bathroom trips and occasional swelling of hands and feet.

Last monday had an ulstrasound appt with MFM and all is well with both babies! yesterday i had my glucose test and the nurse called me this afternoon and said i passed!!! that was such a relief but along with that good news, she also told me that iron was low and so were my blood platelets. OB called in a Rx Iron supplement and said i have to recheck my platelets at 32 weeks.

Had my 1 hour glucose test this week and found out yesterday results came back "borderline." Ugh! So I'm going in Friday morning for the 3 hour test, and keeping fingers crossed I pass. Also had my monthly dr. appointment the same day and, when she measured my bump, she said it's two weeks ahead. She said it's normal (+/- two weeks is ok), and that a big baby is better than small, but that they'll check the baby's growth at my next u/s on June 11. The combo of these two things has me freaking out a bit about GD. Deep breaths! 

(Anyone here nearly fail the one hour but pass the 3 hour?)

QOTW: I met Hillary Clinton after a primary debate at Soldier Field in Chicago before the 2008 campaign. It was a quick handshake and exchange of niceties, but she was really great. Also met Janet Weiss and Carrie Brownstein after a Wild Flag show -- love them!

I am 19 weeks. We had the anatomy scan earlier this week and baby boy looked great! I am so relieved about that!! I love feeling him move, although I really only notice it when I am laying down with my hand on my tummy. We haven't done much yet to get ready - we have saved all of Jeffrey's things so will just need to pull stuff from the attic, but we do need to turn the office into the nursery. We also want to keep Jeffrey in his crib since he sleeps so well in it, so will need new nursery furniture for LO.

QOTW: I live in New Orleans and there are always celebrities in town but I rarely see them! I was in line at Starbucks once with Blake Lively - she seemed friendly and sweet!

Not much is new this week. DH did get the crib & changing table put together so that's done. Have the glucose test coming up next week and hopefully it'll turn out OK.  I still need to add things to my registry.

QOTW: Living in the Chicago area mostly I see sports people or local newscasters but I did see Jane Seymour once. It was in the morning when I was on the way to work and she was getting into a limo outside a TV studio after having done an interview (I think she just got kicked off Dancing with the Stars). I felt like an idiot because as she was getting in the limo she had turned and was looking my direction and I was just staring at her trying to figure out why she looked so familiar. It dawned on me and I smiled when I realized who it was, she smiled, waved and hopped in the limo.

QOTW: I met Hillary Clinton after a primary debate at Soldier Field in Chicago before the 2008 campaign. It was a quick handshake and exchange of niceties, but she was really great. Also met Janet Weiss and Carrie Brownstein after a Wild Flag show -- love them! 

I failed the 1 hour but passed the 3hour in 1st Tri. I am nervous about the next round, I'm due to be rechecked in at 27 weeks I think. Doc said to stay low carb (I struggle to do so). FX for you! Keep us posted.

Cutiecruz327 - Thanks, and that's good to hear! I just had my baseline fasting blood draw and drank the (decidedly MUCH sweeter) drink for the 3 hour test. Here we go! FX for you, too! (I'd totally struggle to be low carb, ugh!)

@IntuitiveBlue - the sciatic nerve pain is the worst!  MH keeps ominously saying if it's like this now, how much worse is it going to get over the summer?!  I've been avoiding laying flat on my back and also doing some stretches & yoga which helps a bit.

Not much new on the bump front here.  I feel like I've gained too much weight these last few weeks but we'll see at my "official" weigh in at my appointment next Friday.  Hoping to get to hear the heart beat again!

Today is my big 3-0 birthday   We are taking LO to the IL's for the weekend and spending a night in a hotel where I don't have to worry about cleaning and can sleep in!  DH is taking me out to a great 60's themed cocktail bar and I hope I can get some ideas and try out some new virgin drinks to make this summer.

QOTW:  I've never met a real celebrity.  At my last job I did some design work on a second home for a NHL player who was also in the last Olympics. He was nice and so was his fiance. It was fun to get to work on designing a house like you see on MTV.

Currently 14 weeks with 1 bean, due NOV 28th and holding strong on team green. Not much to report this week, I'm still struggling with PGAL/IF brain so I'm very anxious for my appointment next week. People keep asking me if I'm nervous about having a baby and becoming a mom. Strangely I feel very at ease with the idea.. though I'm wondering if it's just the calm before the storm and I'll be eating my words soon. 

QOTW: not many sighting here. I sat near Magic Johnson on a plane once and saw a loopy Liza Minelli in the airport.

I guess I am officially in my 2nd trimester now.

Feeling physically good, but still terrified because of the NT results putting me at 1:45 Down's Risk. Waiting for the Panorama results. PLEASE pray for the baby and me.

QOTW: I have met a bunch over the years, but probably the most famous is Johnny Depp and James Franco. Johnny was so fast, I really couldn't give you much of an impression, but James was super friendly and sweet

good news at my drs appointment today! I had a LEEP in the past so am at risk for a shortened cervix. Over the past few visits, however, my cervix has lengthened! Today it was 3.7 and was closed. She said at this point (20 weeks) if it has not shortened, it probably won't. So relieved!!! The babies are 13 oz each and everything looks perfect! Ahh!

Hi everyone....sorry to be a bit late.  Last week was busy at work.  Only 15 school days left in the year! Thank goodness!  

I am 21 weeks and 5 days.  I've been doing well. Blood pressures are good and I am staying hydrated.  My next appt. is set for June  11th....fetal echo tests.  

The biggest event is hearing from my boss and school nurse about diseases within the school and checking in with my OB.  Fifth's disease, ring worm, and "hand,foot, and mouth diseases...bound to come into contact with kids at the elementary level.  Glad to have people looking out for me.  

I have not gained a ton of weight....11lbs based on my scale at home.  Dr. had said not more than 20 - 30 lbs total based on my starting BMI.  So....I feel huge, but it's definately "all baby!"  or in my case....babies!  

QOTW:  I met Ian Ziering back when 90210 was popular when I was in HS.  That's about it!  LOL

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't been checking in lately, May has been crazy busy for us! We went on our "baby moon" to Disney World which was so much fun!

We also found out we are having a BOY! So excited. I'd been having a feeling it was a boy for a few weeks now so I guess instinct was right!

The only bad thing has been my sciatica has been real bad so that is getting annoying. The OB gave me a few stretches that could help so we'll see.
