Do you consider baby sitting on their own when you place them into the sitting position and they maintain it, or if they get into position on their own? What is the typical age range for them to get into position on their own?

Agreed, when you put them there and they stay. My boys were around 7-8 months when they learned to get themselves into the position. We just found them one day sitting up in the crib
