Pregnant after IF

(Possible trigger alert) short cervix and communicating with OBs.

I am not sure if this question is better for PAIF or the HR board (am still formulating our intro post there)... But you guys are my peeps so....

We are now in a pretty high-risk position. Friday I woke up bleeding and after hours in L&D we finally got a dx of a short (< or = 2cm) cervix that showed signs of opening at least once on the scan. Scary stuff. Thankfully, bleeding has stopped and have been on BR since then at home and we will check again tomorrow.

So my question: if one more OB or Dr tells me that they can't dx an incompetent cervix if it's my first pregnancy, or if they won't treat it the same because we haven't had a loss yet -- I AM GOING TO LOSE MY MIND!

That is honestly what scares me the 2nd most: that we aren't being treated the same because these are our first babies. We also went through hell to get them. No one was completely callous about it, but I do get the sense that the plan of treatment is significantly different/more aggressive after a loss than it feels like they are considering now and that kills me, I want to do everything we can for these babies....

Anyone had a similar conversation with a Dr? Or been in a similar place? How do you navigate that?

Not carrying twins but went from a 2.9 to a 1.9 in less than 10 days. I was put on modified bed rest and crinone nightly. Within one week it went back to 2.8. Although, MFM only wanted it to maintain. My MFM said that due to it maintaining and less pressure it is not incompetent but due to pressure. Do you feel pressure when standing? Do you feel your uterus hard? These were my symptoms. Good luck and I will say a prayer. modified bed rest started at 21 weeks and we've made it to 32! You can do this. Also, find a MFM or ob that puts your mind at ease...it has been my saving grace.
