And seriously, no even 48 hrs until baby and I really still don't LOVE anything. Doesn't help that people won't stop suggesting every name under the sun.
Feel like if I don't love anything, I may as well settle for a name that has meaning?

I like it. But my first crush ever was Roy Hobbs (played by Robert Redford) from the movie The Natural. I've liked the name ever since.

Reminds me of Overboard when Goldie Hawn's character keeps calling one of the kids Roy but his name is really Travis. I'm sorry you haven't found something you love

I like it, but all I can think of is Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The character played by Richard Dreyfuss is named Roy, and it his wife yells at him a lot.

I'm a sucker for family surnames as first names. I don't love Roy, but it is a legit name and I think the family meaning is important.

In your case, where you don't love any name, you are at high risk for name regret. Choosing a name you aren't 100% sure of may make you second guess yourself later on. But no matter what, Roy will always mean something to you. I'd go with that rather than gamble on another name I wasn't sure of.

I think it is an awesome choice for a middle name since it has meaning for you. It actually is my son's middle name, but that's only because he is the 3rd so he has the same full name as his Dad and Grandfather. As a middle name, we never use it. I also think it is a fine name that is just a little bland for a first name.

It's my dad's name. I like it. I would consider using it, but my husband vetoed it. I kind of wish it had a legit full name, because it does feel a little too short.
