Pregnant after a Loss

symptoms lessening and feeling less confident :-/

Ugh I know that the books say this is supposed to happen when you start approaching the second tri but that is not helping to stop me from worrying all the same. I woke up this morning feeling good and I'm not enjoying it at all. I want to feel more nauseous and bloated but I just don't. To make things worse, this happened to me during both my past pregancies before I m/ced. I'm getting so nervous and I won't be able to go in next week unless absolutely necessary because I have a busy week at work. My next doctors appt. is June 3 at the hospital for the first trimester screening which will be my loss milestone appt. so I'm sure that's playing in to my paranoia. Anyone else feeling the symptoms lessen?

I'm mobile so I can't see if you have a ticker with your EDD, but based on the timing of your first Tri screening I'd guess you are right around the same timing as me - 11-ish weeks? Anyhow, yes, with the exception of crippling exhaustion and constipation, I am noticing that my symptoms are lessening. My everyday nausea is now intermittent at best and my boobs are no where near as sore as they had been. Overall, symptoms come and go and that's normal. But, it's nearly impossible to keep that in perspective with PgAL brain. I'm sorry you are feeling anxious. PgAL brain is the worst. (((hugs)))

We're at the same spot right now, JCM285. I'm also 11 + 5, and have had more energy and appetite than I have had in weeks. It has made me nervous, too. Of course! I have an appt. at the end of this week, and I think that is adding a lot to the nervousness. It's always scary around appt. time. And adding in a loss milestone - that's a lot to handle this week. Symptoms definitely come and go & that's okay. I hope since your week is busy it will go by quickly and you'll get some reassuring news early next week. Hang in there!

  • I've been feeling pretty good the last couple days myself. Nausea is limited, boobs are a little less sore, etc. But all of that is normal. Your hormone spike is plateauing, the placenta has taken over, and things are on cruise control for a couple months. Enjoy it! Before you know it, you'll be feeling little kicks and taps and you'll have the reassurance that baby is just fine. Do you have a doppler or have you considered getting one? Sounds like that might help ease the anxiety to be able to check in on your little one whenever you want to.

I have had very few symptoms this pregnancy to begin with. Then when I stopped progesterone at 10 weeks, I swear I've had zero symptoms since. I saw my ob Thurs and she pretty much said that is common as you approach 2nd tri. I totally understand the PgAL fears, and I'd love to get an u/s every week!

I'm 13w2d and some nausea has been off and on since last week for me. Also the fatigue is back intermittently. I think in gonna be the weirdo with no 1st tri symptoms but get them in 2nd tri?

Thanks ladies for all of your sincere thoughts!! I genuinely don't know what I would do without you! @haleyusf‌, I don't have a Doppler but have been considering getting one. The only problem is I know that of I don't get a HB right away, I will probably freak out so not sure if its for me. Do you use one and if so, do you like it?

  • @JCM285 I don't have one this go around (although with 4 weeks between appointments now, I'm considering it), but I did with DS (that pregnancy was also directly after a loss) and it was really helpful. I was able to consistently find the heartbeat from around 10 weeks; at 12 weeks, you should be able to hear it. It just might take a couple tries to get the location right; there are tons of youtube videos to show you how. The dopplers are so much cheaper now than they used to be, so I think it would be worth it.

  • PGAL BRAIN SUCKS AND A TERRIBLE THING!!!
That being said I am 15w5d. At first I was super sick, tired boobs were sore (which I felt everyday multiple times to make sure) around 11weeks complete turn around symptoms were all but gone. 12weeks6days ended up having a bleeding scare went to er. All is still well baby is fine.

This is the furthest we have gotten. We have had 3losses. The longest with th. losses was 9weeks.

Hang in there as hard as it is. Once you pass a milestone do something for yourself. TREAT YO SELF ;-)
  • My symptoms decreased dramatically around the 12-week mark. Pgal brain is the worst, so just be gentle with yourself. Hold onto all the good news you have received so far. The doppler checks at the doctor's office definitely got me through those weeks between ultrasounds and before I felt movement.

    Hugs.

Thanks ladies!! @creativesoul83‌ and @2redtulips‌, those are great suggestions. I'm so close to my first trimester screening and freaking out more as it gets closer and closer. Its on Tuesday and I can't wait to get it over with. I think I'm just afraid to hear bad news, but will definitely celebrate if its good news instead :-)
