frustration and office is closed

So last weekend I started my cycle I was so excited because it mean I actually o vulated last month (on 50mg clomid, and despite not seeing it on my OPKs but it was my first one). AF only lasted about 2 days but my doctor said that was fine and not to worry. I started the clomid on day 3 and finished lastnight, now this afternoon what do you know AF showed up AGAIN. Now im worried I screwed up and cant take any more clomid, I dont know im just completly confused and I want to quit. Not to mention when I might ovulate next time based on this week if all goes DH will be out of town...UGH WHY IS THERE ALWAYS SOMETHING WORKING AGAINST ME. And my hsg was scheduled for tues and thats not gonna happen now. Like I said im just so frustrated.

Oh geez how strange to get AF now, did you have a day 3 ultrasound b4 you started the clomid?

No I didnt have an ultrasound

I'm sure the doc will get things straightened out for you Tuesday...no worries, you haven't messed anything up. Could today's AF just be spotting? I have heard of having a bit of cramping and spotting after finishing clomid.

I hope so...last time I had no cramping or thecycle before so I didnt know...I sick of analyzing every twinge.

I've had periods where the bleeding stops for a few days (maybe 2 at the most) and then starts again for a day or two. I always thought it was just my uterus trying to finish up cleaning itself out. If your period lasted close to a week and then you started again a couple days later, maybe it's still your period. If it's really 2 widely spaced bleeding events then I'm not sure... so sorry its the holiday weekend!

I know, it's so hard. If at all possible, ask if they will do u/s and/or bloodwork monitoring if you're doing clomid, knowing exactly where you are at in your cycle might help ease some of the guesswork/frustration. Good luck!

Thanks...yeah I started last sat and only lasted till maybe monday then today cramps and all thats why I dont know...like I said I never analized my body so closely before these issues. I think the worst because, well thats always how I've been.

Well, I'm not sure exactly, but if you had never stopped bleeding in the first place, you could potentially be bleeding and taking Clomid at the same time. So, in my mind anyway, it seems like it could probably be ok. Also, if you are being monitored and are not responding to Clomid (like if this did mess it up) then you can take a second round of Clomid in a cycle, so keep that in mind.

I hope that makes you a little better. I'm really sorry you're stuck in a lurch. I hope the part about the timing with your husband works out!

Could you last period have actually been breakthrough bleeding and AF is really showing up now? That's what it sounds like. Considering you weren't being monitored, there is really no way to know if it was an actual period. I would think it shouldn't be a problem though because if AF is showing up now, you should be able to start another round of Clomid. I'm sure your doc will tell you what to do on Tuesday. I'm sorry, that's frustrating!

Thanks guys but you know how it is im gonna be going over every possibility until I finally find out. I only bled for about 3 days and it was extremely light thwm stopped completly until yesterday afternoon. I hope I can get a hold of my doctor because last time it took aver a week for her to get back to me im just frustrated like I said and its eating away at me.

I was going to say the same thing....clomid is based of Day 1 of you're period...so even if you did start bleeding again you Day 3 will still be Day 3.

Sometimes I get confused on what day is day 1 because I always have some spotting a few days before full flow. My RE doesn't want the phone call though until it's full flow! And if full flow doesn't come before noon then that day doesn't count either!

The first few days could have been spotting and your period didn't really start until later. That happens to me most months. It's tricky because Day 1 for me (full flow) is not the first day of bleeding. Good luck!

Thanks...thats what I was worried about but now I already took the clomid and im worried I messed up this cycle because of it...I hate not understanding my body.

Agreed w/the previous posts.  It's fine to do more than one round of Clomid in a cycle, but maybe you won't need to.  Bloodwork can help to figure that out. 
*Hugs*  I understand the frustration of something like this happening over the weekend, and hate the feeling of having "messed up" something.  I hope that you get some information soon.
