Infertility

Has anyone done IVF at CNY fertility in New York?

Hello I'm new here but I have been lurking for years lol. I got a deal on IVF with CNY fertility months ago. One cycle of IVF for 3K! I'm trying to find reviews and there are some, then there is like this super long thread on another forum that I can't be bothered reading ( its mostly chit chat - not even about cny themselves) lol. Hs anyone here used them? Thanks so much

  • I'm going there in August for IVF. I heard there lab isn't the greatest and that's why it's so cheap.

    ** pregnancy , loss mentioned**

My friend also went there. Get first IVF was successful but ended in mc. Her 2nd IVF was also successful and she is now 12 weeks pregnant. I did 6 IUI's there and loved the nurses and dr kilts but she hated it there and felt she didn't get enough info.

    Good luck!

Lurking here- I've been going to cny for a long time and love it. It is true that they don't have the best SART scores though for whatever reason. We did a bunch of TI cycles, some IUI's and finally ended up at IVF. Our first cycle worked but ended in loss, and I am currently pregnant after fresh cycle 2.

Things I think are important to consider about CNY- it's really important to be involved in your care and advocate for yourself. I really can't stress this enough- consult one of the RE's before you start and get details about your protocol/why they recommend the meds and particular doses and do your own research/make any suggestions you think might be good ideas. You will see nurses for the majority of your appointments and while they are super sweet and knowledgeable, they are not the experts so ask questions and keep on them until you are satisfied with the answers.

Dr Kiltz is super busy but always available to you through phone consult or the discussion forum on the website. Don't hesitate to get in touch with him or any other of the RE's.

Take advantage of the other services like yoga and acupuncture. Yoga for fertility is offered for free and is a great class and way to meet other people going through the same thing. Having Eastern practices available on site really made a difference for me.

Talk to the embryologists- I'm not sure what makes a lab good or bad per say, but I've always had great communication from the embryologist team, and they will answer any questions you have.

    GL!!

  • Hi!

We will be traveling clients and are hoping to be able to start with our IVF at CNY this upcoming late Summer/early Fall. I don't have too much to say right now because we are still in the process of having all of our testing done, but I've been happy with the contact with the nurses thus far! Best of luck to you!
  • Thanks everyone who commented, I got my period yesterday so starting stims soon, I will let everyone know how I do

  • Hi there!  I was just lurking here and stumbled across this post, I hope it's ok that I respond.  I used CNY for 2 IUI cycles and had a really negative experience with them.  In the 8 weeks that I was at the clinic I saw a doctor once.  They told me my super low AMH number (.20) over the phone, a nurse called me and read me an e-mail from a doctor that basically said I had no chance of conceiving on my own and should move straight to IVF.  I love the nurses but when you're dealing with IF it's important to be comfortable with your doctor.  I have other friends on TB who used and loved their Syracuse office, I think I had such a horrible experience because my upstate NY town is only a satellite office.  The are definitely MUCH different from a "typical" REs office which some people really like.  DH is a GI doctor and he was really put off by some of their techniques and procedures.  If you want to talk to my friends who used the Syracuse office PM me.   BEST OF LUCK!!!!

  • Also just lurking ... We did our first ivf cycle early this month at Latham office - resulted in bfn ;( early on in the process communication seemed to be a bit of a hurdle - we were doing monitoring out of town - and really had no clue as what to except and they weren't explaining to much -but things did get better ;) and have been good since - we are now getting ready to do a frozen transfer which will hopefully be in July - best of luck to you
  • Hi everyone, Just wanted to post back on my experience with CNY. I have been here for 5 days and have gone into their office 4 times. The nurses do all the monitoring and tell me what dosage of stims I take, etc. They are all super nice! Which is definitely making this whole process a lot easier. At first when I was still at home, I was very skeptical because I had to ask the travel nurse to do a few things several times. She did get it done, but I was still nervous because I had to ask a few times. Anyways she is so sweet and I forgive her that lol. In the end she never messed up, so I really can't complain. They are very good at monitoring and keeping on track with the orders from my reproductive immunologist and helping me follow the RIs orders as well ( this all gets a bit confusing for me because there is just so much going on, so its really nice they are helping remind me what my RI wants done and when, even though my RIs orders have nothing to do with them.) I do wish that I would see the doctor on my visits, but he does communicate with me through the patient portal and answers any questions I have very promptly. I am also sure if I requested to see him I could. That just hasn't been "necessary" for me at this point, and it is because he answers me on the patient portal. Overall I really like CNY, things seem run very very smoothly even though they have a lot of patients. If this cycle doesn't work out for me, I will definitely go back to them....lets hope I'm not speaking to early as I haven't had my retrieval and transfer yet. I would still love it if other ladies chimed in with their experiences with this place, or even someone you know. Thanks so much to all the ladies that have replied thus far,

  • ***SIGGY and pregnancy mentioned****
I did 2 IVF cycles at CNY.  The first resulted in a chemical pregnancy.  The second resulted in my twin pregnancy.  After each appointment I made sure to message the dr and have him check over the plan.  There was not one time he did not agree with the nurses but it made me feel better.  The patient portal messaging and I became best friends.  I do not have any bad things to say.  The staff is all very nice.  If you are on FB there is a CNY page you can ask to be a part of.  That way depending on what office you are at you can ask more specific questions.  I went to the Latham office.  I stuck with 3 nurses.  I felt the most comfortable with them and my care plan.  Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

I'm local to the Latham office and had a great experience there. Three failed IUIs and then one successful IVF brought me my son. I'm back there now starting a FET.

I will say this: I am basically an Internet doctor at this point and by hyperanalyzed all of my test results - they put them online - and called anytime I had a question about my protocol.

    Good luck!

I have had 2 successful rounds of IVF at CNY in Latham.  I have 2 beautiful daughters, 4 yo & 6 months.  The staff is great and I really enjoyed visiting the upstairs as well.  I incorporated acupuncture and massage into both regimes.  I never felt broken or in despair.  There are support groups and tons of additional services.  I highly recommend CNY!
