LO sometimes makes a clicking noise while nursing. She was just born Thursday, and my milk isn't in yet so I don't think it's OAL. Other thoughts? Her latch might tend to be be a little shallow sometimes but I unlatch and retry, after the initial latch feeding doesn't hurt.
Thanks!

But, as far as the clicking, that normally comes from a bad latch. When you hear that noise, remove the mouth from your nipple and relatch.

Later this week, we are taking my eight week old to have her upper lip tie (and possibly tongue tie too) lasered by a pediatric dentist who is very highly regarded as an expert in this area. My pediatrician is not the one who caught the upper lip tie, my friend (who has two kids with ties) is. In general, pediatricians/LCs/ENTs aren't doing a good job identifying and correcting lip or tongue ties in babies. The tragedy is many moms will suffer for months and months with nipple pain, supply issues, poor weight gain, and overall frustrations before getting the TT/ULT diagnosis.
