Ins coverage for MTHFR testing?

For those of you who have had RPL and MTHFR testing, did your insurance cover it?  We just got a letter saying that they aren't covering it because "there is insufficient evidence that the service is generally accepted in the medical community and/or proven to be effective according to peer reviewed clinical literature."  They label the testing investigational.  Has any one run into this or had success fighting it?
