Introduction- I'm New Around Here (LGBT, 37)

Hi all. New to the board, but I've been a bit of a lurker for the past few months.

I'm Amy, age 37 and my female partner and I are TTC our first. We're in PA, so we're thrilled that as of last week we can soon be legally married.

I've done three rounds of natural cycle IUI, all BFN, and my RE followed that with HSG to be sure that wasn't the issue. Did my first round of aggressive cycle Clomid, Ovidrel, and progesterone suppositories with IUI this month- TWW ends on Monday, but I started spotting today and expect (while I hope it's not) that this month is a BFN, too.

Looking forward to being part of this community and having a place to come to support and chat with others. At my age, I didn't want to tell too many people that we're TTC and get their hopes up, in case it doesn't work out, so I'm feeling a bit lonely with just my partner and the RE's nurse line to go to.

Thank you all for sharing your stories (including while I was lurking). It's been a great support to me so far.

Hope the spotting doesn't mean you are out. My sister is pregnant and she spotted around the time AF was due.

Just curious but if you are able to get married before baby is born will your wife still have to adopt your child or will her name be able to go on the birth cert right away.
All of my friends and family who are same sex had their kids before marriage was legal and I know all the crap they had to go through to adopt their own children.

From what I can tell, she would now be able to be named on the birth cert (hooray!), but most lawyers recommend that you also still do the adoption, since so many states don't recognize the marriage and you don't want to get into any legal complications if you travel with children and need to prove legal parenthood. Better safe than sorry, but yep, it is an expensive and frustrating process. (Of course, at this point, I'd be glad to have reason to deal with the frustration...).

Welcome! And congratulations on the upcoming nuptials! There is such a thing as implantation bleeding (spotting) that would occur about 9dpo. I had that when I got pg, though it only happens about 30% of the time apparently. Maybe you will get lucky this month after all

UPDATE- another BFN this month, but we'll be doing another Clomid cycle this month, assuming my bloodwork and ultrasound on Tuesday are a go. Trying to think positive- my body just needed a month to test Clomid out...
