Didn't read all comments because I got too excited. iMO harry was a horcrux but he himself didn't die because at the time of voldemorts curse he was also the true master of the deathly hallows, effectively renderinghim immortal. He had had the cloak for years, won the wands allegiance accidentally from draco and dumbledore left him the stone insisde the ring. And the horcux inside him could die because it didn't belong to him, it was a part of vomdemorts soul.
I wondered this, too, but he actually dropped the stone I think before he stepped into the clearing. Or at least it said something like "the stone slipped in his hand" and the "ghosts" disappeared. And he told Dumbledore he dropped it in the woods and wasn't sure where. I'm not sure how much ownership the stone attaches to him without him having in his possession.
Like PP pointed out I took it to mean he was the master of them, meaning they belonged to him, not just that they were in his possession or on his person. After all, he didn't have the cloak on him 24 hours a day and it was still his and he didn't even touch the wand a single time when he won its allegiance.
Ooooh. Possession and mastery are two different things, tho. Me likey
But that would mean Harry would be forever the "master" of the Hallows and never able to die, wouldn't it?
Yes but at the end he snapped the elder wand in half meaning he ruined the whole shebang
I don't think he does this in the book. I just re-read it yesterday, but I can look again. I think he said he would put it where it belonged or where it was found or something. He uses it to repair his wand, and then I assumed he would put it back in Dumbledore's grave.
Oh damb, did I just commit a major HP crime and mix up the movie and the book. If so, I'm ashamed of myself
This thread is awesome. Why did I have to get here when it was done?
I about crapped my pants when Harry broke the wand at the end of the DH2 movie.
I hadn't thought of the fact that he was finally the master of the Hallows and that's why he made it at the end. Then he chose to give it all up because he's a badass like that.
@ravenclaw1 2weeks from Friday we will be discussing book 3. We are all rereading them and there are some virgins. So, come back and join that thread. No spoilers though, only book 3 and previous stuff
Thanks
I've been following the re read threads, I just have a hard time being spoiler free. I think HP is always best discussed as a series- there are just so many good hints and Easter eggs throughout the series that it's interesting to figure them out.
I'm planning on joining in on these discussions! I don't currently have copies of the books (My ex husband took them all, meany) but I just ordered the first one. I'll try to catch up to you guys on the rereading.
Re: HP Tom Riddle theory - MASSIVE SPOILERS. DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READ ALL THE HARRY POTTER BOOKS
