I got one around week 7(ish)before we went on vacation. It was my first one of the season so that could have had something to do with it, but ohmahgah it hurt worse than ever before (and I am pretty regular with it over the warmer months). I also used to go in loaded up on Advil and didn't take anything that time so maybe that was another factor. Needless to say, I've been too chicken to go back again so far.
@mireland89 if you can handle the legs, you can do brazilian. The shins burn way worse than anything I've ever waxed. With brazilian, its more anxiety of the pain rather than actual pain, to me at least. I've been doing it for so long and I still start visualizing my lady bits getting pulled off with the wax. Can you imagine?!
@Sarahbeth612 my legs don't bother me as much, I've had them waxed before, and it's never really bothered me. I've had a Brazilian before and although uncomfortable it wasn't overly painful, my mind didn't really have enough time to readjust because the lady that was doing it was finished in no time!
I frequently did Brazilians before the baby. It hurt, but like someone said it was tolerable. Being pregnant now I can only tolerate the bikini and anything lower... (Not the entire top part of my pelvic area. But this part has always hurt me worse than closer to the vagina and butt.) the most painful areas are different for everyone. My aunt can't handle the lower part. I did my legs once and I have never cussed so much in my life. That was 10x more painful to me than the full Brazilian!
I have gotten 2 before, spread out by a few months. Before I went, I did my research. You need to take tylenol about 20 minutes before your wax, which helps with the pain. It's also best to have about 1/4" of hair so the wax has something to grip as well as buffing the area for a few weeks beforehand. Do not buff in the days before. Also, baby oil helps if any wax remains because sometimes, they miss a tiny bit after clean-up. Mine were quite painless and if done right, yours will be too. The waxer will be professional and has seen a thousand vaginas so don't be nervous. They should tell you what to hold taut to get the best outcome and when I went, I held my legs up instead of being on all fours for the anal area.
I most certainly plan to get waxed at the end so that area looks nice.
