I'm thinking of taking 7-10 days off in July and going to the US with DH and DD (will be 20 months old then). I'm trying to decide on a city to visit. Obviously I would like to go to a city that has stuff to do for a small child like parks, zoos, aquariums etc.
I thought about Chicago, because me and DH have never been and we've heard good things about it. The downside is that there are no direct flights so we would have to take one 9-hour flight, go through immigration and customs, then a 1 or 2 hour flight. That seems like hell with a toddler.
Me and DH have already been to Boston, DC and NY. I've been to a bunch of places in the US but would go again. DH grew up in Florida so not crazy about going there but would go.
From my city we can fly directly to NY, LA, Dallas, Detroit, Miami, Atlanta, and maybe some others I can't remember. All between 8 and 10 hour flights.
Do you think we should go to Chicago even if it means 2 flights? Are there tons of fun things to do? Any other cities that are fun in the summer with little kid and I should consider?
