Made my Heart beat sky rocket

Had my 16 week appointment today.  Everything is fine but they did have a hard time finding my babies heart rate.  First the nurse tried and she said they don't always find it (but she found it after a while) this time she had a little to much trouble.  So when my doctor came in she tried, well she was finding a heart beat but then it would go away really quickly.  Then she found a heart beat that seemed like it could be the babies but then she was taking my pulse to make sure it wasn't mine and of course it was mine (it was 110!!!!!  Slightly freaking out about not hearing the babies heart beat)  but she finally did find my babies (it finally decided to hold still LOL)  it was 142 so very glad that they found it.  Now just four more weeks and we will finally know what our little baby is.

Omg so glad all is well your not alone . The same thing happened to me this week .im 16 weeks also . Two nurses tried with no luck then my doc tried they kept finding my heart in the 100s plus . Finally they stopped and made me wait for an ultrasound . 20 minutes of waiting they did a 1 minute ultrasound . Baby was fine heartbeat great and baby moving all over the place . Can't wait to find out !!!! So glad they found you Lo heartbeat ! I've yet to hear mine

Glad you heard the heartbeat at the end. I knew how scary that could be. I also just had my 16wks appointment last week. My OB was able to find the heartbeat in a minute or two, but it was faint and often get interrupted with a lot of whooshing noise. She explained the whooshing noise was caused by the placenta and it is most likely located at the front of the uterus, hence the baby's heartbeat was faint and hard to find.
