TTC a Rainbow Sibling check-in (bfp warning)

Welcome to the TTC a Rainbow Sibling check-in. This check-in is a for TTCAL-ers with living children to talk about the issues about TTCAL while you have a living child. Living children and pictures of living children are welcome here, however if your pictured child is an infant (< a year old), please do place a warning at the beginning of your post to alert ladies who are having a hard day.  You do not have to be active on the PAL board in order to be a member of this check-in, however, if you plan on posting on the main board please post an intro there.

All are welcome to join us!  Please give us an intro with the following information if you wish: name(s)/age(s) of your child(ren), EDD(s) and where you are in your TTC journey.

If you get a BFP please send @almostamissus a private PM so I can add you to our graduates list.

Special hugs this week: @frenchteachermama is having her IUI today. Best wishes love!

Sorry about the delay posting this. I got tied up at the doctors office today AND then they had problems taking blood from me, so they sent me across town to the hospital to have it done! Not fun.

QOTW: If you found a $50 dollar bill right now, what would you do with it.

CD1. I think that pretty much sums it up.

QOTW: our lawn mower and weed whacker were stollen out of our garage two nights ago so I would put it towards our funds to buy new ones. Lame, I know.

  • Thanks for the check-in @almostamissus!  My IUI was moved to tomorrow.  On Wednesday I had 15mm, 16mm, and 17mm follies so they had me trigger last night and IUI will be on Friday.  My E2 level was really low (175) so I don't think this is going to be a successful cycle.  I think they like to see 200+ per mature egg and based on my history they could all be empty :(  Trying to remain positive but it's hard.  We're leaving for Chicago tomorrow to see my parents and I'm super excited about seeing my family and childhood friends.

((hugs)) for anyone who needs them!!

QOTW:  If it were in my pocket (meaning it was originally mine) I would go get a mani/pedi!  Karma really worries me so if I found it on the street I would try to return it to the original owner :)

  • @Missa_g‌ sorry for cd 1. I know it sucks, but I chuckled at the way you phrased it. It really does sum it all up. (((Hugs)))

@Frenchteachermama‌ That stinks but stay positive! I don't know much about E2 levels- is it possible they could go up a bit between here and O? I'm hoping against hope this is it for you
  • @Missa_g - I am so sorry about CD1. :(  Big huge hugs.  And sorry about being stolen from, people suck sometimes.

@Frenchteachermama - I will still be keeping my FX for you!

I'm on CD17.  We're benched this cycle and will see the RE in just under 2 weeks now.  I'm having a really hard time keeping it together until then.  I tried calling and seeing if there were any cancelations but the doctor is booked up until then, so we just have to keep waiting.  The anticardiolipin antibody test came back "indeterminate".  The RE will decide whether or not to rerun it.  I think they like to wait 6-8 weeks between draws so we wouldn't have it checked until the end of June or beginning of July.  I'm just in a really crappy post-loss place right now and having a hard time distracting myself from it.  Hopefully the three day weekend will help.

QOTW: If I had an extra $50 I would go on a book buying spree.  Trying to devote some energy into reading and need some new material. :)

CD 2 sucks more because more intense cramps :(! This month we are continuing to temp and we started on CD1 and we are going to be using the OPK to help us pinpoint ovulation. We are going to stay positive because we believe in time it will happen again for us, but if is hard to get bfn. If i found 50 dollars i would use to pay a piece of a medical bill.

  • Hey ladies! Sorry I've been absent lately.

@Frenchteachermama Good luck tomorrow! I hope your vibes about this cycle are wrong!

@ellebelle2384 (((hugs))) distraction is a good thing, stay busy!

@neary211 Cramps suuuuuck. I hope they ease up.

Not much new with me. I said I'd make it to 6 months then stop pumping. . . that will be Friday. I think I'm gonna keep pumping. :-D Just seems like the right thing to do for now. I may cut back though and do halfsies with BM and formula, would give me more time with baby and might coax AF out of hiding. We'll see. I'm not gonna stress about it. I'm doing something special for Isaac and I'm in a peaceful place about it right now. I'll rethink as we get closer to setting a date for our FET, probably September.

  • @ellebelle2384‌ (((hugs))) I hope they're able to get answers for you soon! Books are one of my favorite ways to hide- I'm reading the Harry Potter series to dd8 right now! Have you read The Book Thief? That was one I couldn't put down.

@Neary2011‌ Some may not agree, but I always try to give myself a day or moping when af shows and then I convince myself that at least we get another try. Positive thinking! I hope those cramps subside.

@BootsOrHearts‌ So glad to see you back! I found it really difficult to give up bf'ing with dd. But I did find it helped to really focus on the same type of cuddles even though we were using a bottle. Good luck with whatever you decide.

    Thanks for the checkin!

As for me, not much going on right now. I'm still on BC until we get the results from DH's chromosomal analysis but we found out my results and they're normal. We will meet with the RE on June 12th but i'm getting sick of waiting. I hate delaying TTC but i'm trying my hardest to be patient.

QOTW: I would go grocery shopping!

  • @almostamissus Thank you for the Check in!

@Missa_g I am right here with you on CD1, just when I really thought I was going to see a BFP..nope just a wonky cycle..

@frenchteachermama Good luck with the IUI, enjoy Chicago hopefully it will be a good distraction.  It has always been somewhere I would like to visit.

@ellebelle2384 I hope you find books you enjoy, I read 2 pages and am asleep.

@neary2011 I hate cramps, I was spoiled and neve had them, now they are in full force...think it is going to require beer to tame them this weekend!

As I mentioned - CD 1 for me, moving on to a new cycle. trying to get my head right and maybe stop temping and charting and just try to enjoy BD when it happens.

QOTY: If I had an extra 50 I would likely shop for a new outfit..the weather this weekend is supposed to be beautiful- reality is I would end up getting something for the kids.

  • @kj808‌ waiting really does suck. Seems like that's all we do when ttc, isn't it? You must be stoked to have good results back so far! Congrats!

@TMaggie0424‌ Glad your dh is completely on board! Last month my dh asked me to write our bd'ing schedule on the calendar. Haha! It's nice to know we are in this together. I'm mobile today, so if you post the link or picture of your chart, we can take a look at it... Hopefully it's not anov and maybe just a wonky sleep pattern?

@sergeantb44‌ Boo for Af. But I agree- new cycle right? A break can be seriously liberating. After my first loss I decide to not track anything, but it's not like you can "forget" what cd you o on. Anyway, low and behold we did get a bfp that cycle (it did end in mc) but it was so nice not to worry and obsess over charting and just enjoy dh.
  • Oh man I always forget the QOTW - I'd probably blow it all at BRU!

  • Hi ladies, I'm a little late to this post, but I'm also new to the board. I thank @almostamissus for the invite to check-in with you ladies! I have a 14 month old daughter Harley. I found out early in January that I was pg again, but I was already spotting heavily and blood work confirmed 2 days later I mc'd. DH and I were not trying at the time so it was a bit of a surprise all around and I don't even know what my EDD would have been (likely Sept 14 or Oct 14).

As for now I am on CD49 but just had a BFN earlier this week. I am waiting impatiently for my cycles to regulate, or at least to get AF so I can start temping again. DH and are "having fun" right now, but plan to TTC next cycle. I look forward to getting to know you ladies!

Oh and QOTW: I'd likely spend it on something cute for my daughter!

  • @almostamissus Thanka for the Check in. I am doing well. A little bit of a life rut so trying to change some things up.

FX for all who are still in this cycle.

QOTW: If you found a $50 dollar bill right now, what would you do with it.

Pay someone to clean my house, I really am not in to the house upkeep lately. I have a feeling the coming summer days will do little to change that.

  • Hi ladies!

I'm so sorry I've been absent.... I feel terrible that I haven't been on the board much to give support to anyone at all. I've just hit this wall I can't kind of get past where I'm feeling like I'm so tired of TTCAL.... just so worn out from everything I don't have any energy to give anywhere. Just tired of dealing with secondary infertility. I know you can all relate... but I feel horrible I've been so absent.

But for an update in my world... we're currently on round 2 of IVF with Gonal F & Menopur injections. Today is day six of stimming and I will likely go to day 12 again as with last cycle. So I think my retrieval date will be 6/2, and if we are lucky enough to have any to transfer, that would be either 6/5 or 6/7 depending on 3 or 5 day.

We'll see! Follies appear to be growing well so I'm excited about that!

Thanks for the check in and email @almostamissus!

Even though I'm not around much I think of you all often and am lurking and sending many hugs!

  • @anitaflora‌ You shouldn't feel terrible! And I completely understand... I took a little bump break myself when I didn't feel like I could offer up support. I think it's ok to take a little more than you give sometimes though. I've been wondering about you! I'm glad to hear that your follies are doing well and I'm hoping so hard that this is your month!

Thanks so much for the check in @almostamissus ! I'm sorry I've been MIA, I hate posting from my tablet the bump makes it annoyingly hard!

I've been feeling a little better emotionally, I saw a pregnancy announcement today and didn't cry (go me!).
I'm getting pissed at my clear blue fertility monitor, I haven't gotten a peak reading only high but the cheapie opks/clear blue smiley ones gave me + last night and this morning. It did the same thing last month, but O was confirmed with temps. I have my annual gyno appointment in July and if I'm not KU by then I will be talking to my doc about what we need to do now that we have been trying for a year (with an ectopic in there) and I'm down a tube. I just hope  they are receptive to helping us.

Hi Ladies, I know it's not Thursday but I thought I should give my introduction (if you haven't read it on the main board yet) before then so we can get to know each other! I'm 28, and have a DS, Landon, who turned 3 on February 7th. EDD of 1/12/15, ectopic @ 5w6d. We are TTC # 2 and have been doing so since 8/13. I was DX with low AMH (.58) in March of this year. Started Clomid CD3-7 with trigger on CD15, and got a BFP on 5/2 and lost the baby on 5/18. Have a dr.'s appointment tomorrow 5/27 to check my hcg levels and hopefully they're close to zero and we can get the healing process started. Happy to meet all of you, hate that it's under such crappy circumstances-- but HI! :)

  • @mara005‌ I've read about the clear blue monitors not giving peak reading from a bunch of people. Are you just starting to use them? If I remember properly, it takes a couple of cycles for them to "learn" you. And I know how you feel, bc I'm down a tube as well, I found it discouraging to know we could be trying so hard and knowing it might not even matter because it could be an "off" month for me. I hope that you can get some help when you go for your annual.

@rslh10‌ Welcome to our checkin! I'm sorry for your loss. This is a wonderful group of ladies- you're in great company. I hope your levels return to normal soon so you can start trying again soon
  • Hi everyone!

Things have been so busy with us - we are trying to get our old house on the market (we moved over a year ago, luckily, we don't have a mortgage on the old house b/c it is a family thing, but still stressful with utilities and lots of repairs/updates). I have a surgery date for a laparoscopy and selective HSG - it will be June 9. They will be checking for and removing any endometriosis and/or scar tissue (from two previous back surgeries I have had) that they find and hopefully reopening my right tube, so I will have two functional tubes again. We are TTC this month and hoping to avoid surgery, so we will see what happens.

QOTW - I would probably buy a couple new shirts with $50, pretty boring! But I seriously could use a few more decent casual shirts.
