  • I think you forgot a letter in Johanna? or is that meant to be Johnna?

  • LOVE Isabella!!!
  • I chose Grace Marie Barnes because I am also not a fan of double middle names, plus it just flows the smoothest.

I really like Annette as well, but think perhaps it would sound better with only one middle name, like Annette Marie.
  • meant to be Johnna .... her dad's name is John and he wants her names Johnna...... This is the problem ... he loves her dearly and wants her named after him.....but I am not a fan and EVERYONE mispronounces it..... even her gma

  • Johna is terrible.  Johanna is lovely.  Annette got my vote!

  • I have a friend named Johnna and I happen to like the name! I even like it better than Johanna. But my vote is for Isabella.

I like Grace, but would have picked Johanna if it were an option.

I would not use Johnna. Too confusing, and naming a baby isn't all about one person. You love the baby too; give her her own name.

  • So if you have ever have a son, does your husband get to name him John Jr?
  • LOVE Isabella Grace Marie Barnes...beautiful!

  • I don't really understand the need for 2 middle names. Naming a child "Johnna" after the father seems quite selfish on his part. If you have more children will all their names include "John"?

  • I hate to say i amnot a fan of Johnna... but i am at a loss....he hates every name i choose. :( I cant get him to listen to me at all
  • sigh..... i dont know..... i wish he would give me a tad option.

  • What about the Italian Gianna instead of Johnna? Also not a fan of a double middle name and Marie sounds so dated to me.

I think Annette Grace is very pretty. Gianna Grace is pretty as well.

Gianna and Johanna are both lovely Johnna (pronounce Joan-ah or John-ah?) is a little... eh? Speaking as someone who always has to spell out and repeat her not-so-common name, it's going to give her trouble, and it's not that awesome of a name to be worth so much trouble IMO.

I chose Grace Marie because Grace Barnes sounds really classic and yet timely. I love the name Isabella, but am not big into Isabella Barnes (because of the repeating 'b's maybe? Plus it's super common right now which is either a plus or a minus depending on how you look at it).

I like @MorseBrooks' suggestion of taking the two favorites off the table and coming up with potential compromise names. I also agree with her sentiment that naming a baby should be something you do together. It's one of the first shared tasks of parenting and might just be a barometer of how co-parenting with this dude is going to be...
  • yeah there is no compromise.....tried and tried hard....at least i can vent here. :(

I voted for Grace Marie Barnes. While I don't have a problem with 2 middle names (I myself have 2 and have always loved it) I just think Grace Marie flows better on it's own.

As for Johnna, I'm not really a fan either but could that be a middle name? This seems like a more fair compromise and an appropriate reason for having two middle names.

    How about:

    Grace Marie Johnna
    Grace Johnna
    Annette Johnna
    Annette Johnna Grace
    Isabella Marie Johnna

I agree with everything said here. DH is a jr and his dad is super narcissistic...we get along with him, but the truth is the truth. DH is the complete opposite of him though, very mellow and laid back. So naturally, he's always wanted to change his name because he said he feels like he's living in his dad's shadow with that name, and when everyone finds out he's his son, they expect him to be a younger version of his dad. I have no problems with naming your kid after yourself, but if someone is SO hell bent on it, it's not a good sign!
