Hi again

Hey guys. I am reemerging from the creepy lurker shadows. I used to post occasionally to infrequently but that dropped off to approximately never. Anyways, I've been married for 9 years and we have 2 girls, 16 months and 3 years. And we have a big dog. I quit my job as a nurse and we are moving to the Portland area. Like literally right now, we are all in our car with a metric crapton stuff and we are driving from Florida to Oregon over the next 10 days. Hopefully the kids keep the screaming to a minimum and the dog doesn't fart too much.

We will be stopping in ATL (3 nights), Nashville (2 nights), Kansas City, Denver, Salt Lake City and The Dalles. I am on the snapchat as thejessicorn and will be snapping across the country.

This feels very surreal right now.

    Hi. Welcome.

Fellow nurse here. I just stopped working a couple of weeks ago too.

Sounds pretty intense right now for you. GL with the move/travel!

  • Hi! Good luck with the dog farts!

Thanks! So far it's not going well in that dept. :/

  • Hey! I remember you! Welcome back and GL with the drive and move! My dog's ass is the absolute worst, so that makes long drives for us tons of fun as well.

Hi there! Yeah, despite how much we wanted to move it's been harder to leave than I had imagined. I had worked at my hospital for 9 years and had lots of friends there, and I am leaving my hometown. But we are soooo excited to get out of the south and the heat. And we will be west coasters! And I literally JUST got offered the job I wanted!! So now that the goodbyes are done I think it will be much easier. And hopefully we'll see cool things on this crazy road trip!
  • Hi and welcome back!  Good luck with the move; that sounds...fun?

  • Wow sounds lie a great move and fun but crazy trip there. I laughed at the dog farts. They are the worst!!!

    And I remember you too.

Thank you! The girls have been great today. I'm sure I'm totally jinxing myself for admitting that on a public forum! Now we're just stuck in fabulous Atlanta traffic a few miles from our first destination. :/

I hope it's fun and doesn't make me want to rip my hair out. We're going to see a lot of the country we've never seen before so hopefully that will be nice.
  • Hi, I remember your screenname! Good luck with your move. My H wants to move back to our hometown area (we have been here 10+ years), and it gives me anxiety to think about committing to that kind of change. Taking the plunge seems so hard!

We are visiting my FIL. It's actually a little north of Nashville. I doubt we'll do anything besides sit and talk. I've been to the area several times and still haven't done anything in the city.

I'm an OB nurse. I was previously doing postpartum and nursery but my new job will be antepartum, postpartum, level 1 babies and eventually L&D. It sounds awesome. What were you doing?
