Wildfires

We have some big wildfires going on where I live and the smoke has finally made it in to the valley where I live. Has anyone ever heard whether you should be more cautious around this crap when pregnant? I stay far away from cigarettes but when all the outdoors around where you live is smoky and I can't stand to sit indoors! What's a girl to do, should I worry or just keep moving along my normal routine? I normally am begging for sunshine where I live but we really need some rain, help me do the rain dance ladies!

Re: Wildfires

  • Lurking, but I live in Colorado, and we have suffered 2 wildfires in the last years. If you are not in the immediate area of the fire, I really wouldn't worry about it all that much. If you are within the area, drink lots of water, and stay indoors as much as possible. You might also consider closing all open windows, and turning off the A/C. I wouldn't alter your routine, but maybe tone it down a notch. If you feel like it is getting hard for you breath, head inside.

  • I live near the wildfires too. I have kept all my windows closed and run the air conditioner. If I'm itching to get out we will drive 15 minutes out of town to get dinner. Luckily we live far enough away that it really only bothered me for one day. Maybe check with your doctor?
