Double shopping cart!

I saw a guy pushing the boring double shopping cart through Stop 'n Shop tonight. With NO kids. I almost yelled at him to think of the poor children, what will the hordes of twins do now?! Then I saw 2 early elementary kids in the aisle behind him. Is it bad etiquette to take the double cart for kids who aren't even going to ride in it?

Re: Double shopping cart!

  • I refuse the cart. I hate that cart; it doesn't hold all my wine. DS knows to not even ask.

    I'm saving for his therapy.

  • ^^^ this.

It's too hard to push, and he won't stay in it either. I made walking in the store a reward and riding in the cart a consequence.

I live in a neighborhood with a lot of very large families. Seeing a mom out with six kids or more is typical. Car cart is for them, not me.

  • He probably didn't have a quarter. Usually the double/car carts don't require that pesky coin.

We used the car cart the other day for our singleton. The entire time I thought about the bump.

  • We did a Target run on Sunday church. I mentioned I wanted to grab the double cart so Willa could go for a ride. I took a look at the size of the thing and quickly changed my mind. That massive thing looked like a maneuvering nightmare.

IKR? I can't imagine anyone willing to deal with that beast. And the actual cart part is smaller.

DS begged to try it when he was about 3. It was horrible! I kept running into things, and knocking stuff over.
