4 weeks had an ultrasound...

Alright so I had my period April 10th and then I got a new birth control so I tried to skip a period and waited 2 weeks to start the new BC then I started getting really emotional around mothers day (just had a LO in October my first. ) so I took a test Tuesday after mother day and it was negative. Something just felt weird so I tested again on Friday after having and it was positive. I called my doctor and she said based on my last period I was 6w. They did a confirmation and I went for an ultrasound this morning but there was no baby. So I told them I might be less far along then we thought and she showed me this little spot on the screen where she said she THINKS a gestational sac is developing. So I'm going back in 3 weeks to try again, Has anyone else had a similar situatuon? I mean I feel so pregnant, I know I am.

Do you know what your beta is/was? If it's still early and your number is less than 1,000-2,000 you are unlikely to see anything on u/s. You likely ovulated late and are early along in your pregnancy. They should wait a couple of weeks (depending on beta) and repeat the u/s.

  • Thanks, she said if I am 4 weeks we won't see anything. I'm pretty sure I'm only about 4 weeks
  • I started the new BC about 2 weeks ago but I didn't wait long enough to have unprotected sex according to my doctor. I totally know I'm preggo, I'm just being a nervous Nellie
  • Yes, this happened to me last week.. I'm having labs done every 48 hours..thus far my numbers are rising so I'm hoping to see my little sak soon. The situation is very frustrating, but try to be patient and positive...good luck and keep us posted

  • Thanks ladies!! I actually found an old post through Google and every response was positive saying that 4 weeks is way too early to see anything and if there are symptoms not to worry :-) I'm feeling better about it but still a bit on edge
