Sunscreen and Eczema

Any recommendations for a sunscreen that is eczema-friendly? Yesterday we broke out the sprinkler, so I slathered DS really well in Babyganics (from last year). By bedtime he had clawed several scratches on his neck, and today he has been scratching his legs. He doesn't have any bug bites, and he's not scratching his normal eczema spots (his upper thighs), so the only thing I can figure is that maybe he's itching from the sunscreen. Or is that crazy?

  • My skin is kinda sensitive after being in the sun all day even if I'm slathered in sunscreen. The Aveeno lotion with the green color scheme and oatmeal always reduces the itching for me.

  • I just got an email from EWG about their 2014 sunscreen ratings. I haven't had a chance to look at all of the information yet, but here's the link.
  • I was thinking I had read that sunscreen can be used more than one year now, but it couldn't hurt to replace it. The Babyganics is supposed to be pretty free of allergens, but I guess there may still be an ingredient that disagreed with his skin. He's never had these reactions when he plays in the grass without sunscreen, which is why I was thinking that was the problem. We also weren't outside all that long. Who knows.... Anyway, I'll order something new today and see how it goes!
