Random vomiting

My lo has vomited 2x this week. First time was on Sunday night. I figured that was due to motion sickness. We were traveling from IL to DE and driving home. She was fine on the plane ride but about a 1/2 hour left till home she threw up all over herself in the car seat and stayed asleep. She threw up again while sleeping last night in her crib.

She had never really thrown up until she got the stomach bug a few weeks ago and even spitting up was rare for her.

I'm a FTM so I'm kinda clueless about some things lol but is random vomit normal? Or would you be concerned it's something more? She has no fever and seems like her normal self.

Did she eat anything new that maybe didnt agree with her?

No not really. She has a grilled cheese from potbelly on Sunday night and the ham steak last night...I think the only thing she hasn't had before was the potbellys wheat bread

  • If she seems ok otherwise I would not worry BUT @subliminalrabbit‌ brings up a good point. If she is vomiting in her sleep I would be worried about chocking.

My LO had the stomach bug a couple of weeks ago. We went to the pediatrician. He said don't be surprised if it came back a couple of weeks later because that was what he was seeing.
  • I'm not sure if this helps, but our LO vomited EVERY NIGHT for 4 WEEKS back in March. It started with a little cold, then coughing caused her to have a little gag reflex and then puke all while in a dead sleep. We went to her doctor 4 times. The first time, they said come back in 10 days if it's not better. Then 10 days later, they said it again. Then we tried baby zyrtec and in 2 days, it was better. Her pedi said she just had a very sensitive gag reflex and the pollen in the air was making her vomit.

So... for us, it became normal! FX it goes away soon!!
