Switching from the OB to a midwife?

With my last pg I wasn't seeing and OB prior so when I got my bfp I just called the midwife to make my appointments. This time around I am already under the care of an OB but would like to go back to the midwife I saw previously. I really liked her and would like to see her again this time.

My question is my OB already knows about this pg and is having my do betas and told me they will schedule my first u/s once my numbers are back. Do I just tell them no thanks and call the midwife to schedule my first appt with her? How do I make the switch?

Re: Switching from the OB to a midwife?

  • I have no personal experience with this, but I assume that would be the best and most straight forward way to go about switching from your OB to your midwife. If you're uncomfortable telling them yourself, you could call your midwife and get her to request your records.

    Good luck!

@SassyMommaC‌ my PCP referred me to this OB as she specialized in IF after I had some issues in the months following my d&c and ashermans was suspected.
