Mine had mucus-like discharge with it, which made it hard for me to tell. But the nurse at L&D asked me if it had mucus in it when I got there, so it must be common. I also felt a small gush when I moved a certain way or coughed. I put a pad on and laid in bed to see if I felt it when I stood up. But when I went to L&D I still wasn't completely sure my water had broken.
Hm... I've changed my underwear twice since my doctor's appt today. I haven't had very much discharge this pregnancy... I'm not overly concerned at this point, just curious. Maybe my body's finally getting ready... I remember a lot of watery discharge the couple days before my daughter was born
My dr wanted me to go to L&D to get it checked out last week. It was just discharge, but they told me that if it happened again, to come right back, because it can be so similar.
I had a forebag leak that caused a slow trickle. I lost my plug the day before so it was really hard to tell when it started. I just noticed that my undies were wetter than they should be from mucus, and I would slowly wet a piece of tissue. About 18 hours later my bag broke with a huge gush.
I had watery discharge & called the MW. She said as my body prepared for labor that's normal for it to get all watery. Then when my water broke Monday morning it was a slow trickle that had me thinking I'd peed my pants a little. Then it trickled down my leg a few drops. Had no smell whatsoever & completely clear. I had to go downstairs to get a pad & put a washcloth between my legs just in case as I was still unsure. By the time I got back upstairs the washcloth was half soaked. That's obviously just my experience. But it was clear when it finally broke vs discharge.
