Will attempt to ultrasound myself tonight!

I am a nurse and I am stuck on nights this week 7p-7a

Not really sure if I will make it through until the morning, but..

I work in an ICU and we have an ultrasound machine. Everyone ultrasounds themselves when they are pregnant.. Mostly at night when it is quiet. Since my OB doesn't do one until 18/20 weeks I am dying to take a look!

Not sure what I will be looking for but we will see..

At this stage I think it's still pretty low, near your pubic bone and you need to point it in different directions until you find the little bean. Let us know how it goes

There was an ultrasound machine where I used to work and I fought the urge to use it on myself when I was pregnant with dd. I was afraid I would see something that would freak me out (like some sort of artifact that I didn't know what it was). I'm a worrier, so it was best for me not to look. But good luck looking tonight :-)

Oh man, how cool that you have that technology available to you! Maybe one of the other nurses will have more experience and can help you u/s yourself. If I had an u/s machine available to you, I'm not sure that I'd get any work done, lol. I'd be just watching my baby dance around

I have been so tempted to do the same! I work in L&D and we have one on the the floor but we have been so slammed lately I haven't had a chance to try. I have tried to doppler myself twice but I think it was too early (8&9wks) now I'm 10 weeks and I'm on this weekend so I'm going to try and at least sneak a doppler. It's hard bc I don't want anyone to know! And I'm nervous to use the US in case ip get in trouble.

How far are you? My first scan was at 8 weeks and I had an internal because external can't see anything that early? Also at my 11 week apt we used the Doppler but she told me don't be afraid if we couldn't find the heart beat it can be tricky before 12 weeks. PS we have the same name :P

I can totally relate!
And there might be some Italian in there somewhere but for the most part I think my parents just liked it haha

Wasn't planned to be they tried abd with no luck but had me pee as soon as I got there.
