OHSS and pregnant with twins

I developed OHSS about 8dpiui and was teetering on the moderate/severe line. It seemed to get a bit better over the last couple of weeks, but I've been taking it really easy. At our u/s last week, we found out that it's twins! We also found out that my OHSS is so bad, that my ovaries are actually touching and pushing down on my uterus. Today, I've started having some pain on my right side. It feels like an ovarian cyst rupture (had a bunch in the past, so I'm pretty familiar) My current OB isn't sure what to make of it, as he has no experience in the realm of OHSS. He's put in a referral for a specialist, but in the meantime I'm kind of stuck.

I guess my question is, have any of you had OHSS during your pregnancy? How long did it last? I just need someone to tell me that it's going to be over soon. I'm so uncomfortable and just want to curl up in a ball and cry.

Congrats x2! Mine started to fade around 6 weeks, and was completely gone by 7 weeks. Stay hydrated and take it easy!

I think my OHSS was pretty mild compared with yours, but I was also pregnant with twins. I was REALLY uncomfortable though so I can imagine a little bit of what you're going through. Every day it got a little bit better. I drank a lot of gatorade and V-8 and that may have helped. Good luck and hang in there - it's not fun!

Thanks ladies. I ended up going into the ER today. Turns out I was having sort of a chain reaction of cysts rupturing. Talk about pain! Taking it extra easy from here on out. Even the docs were shocked at how enormous my ovaries were. They said they've never seen any that big before. At least both babies are doing well and seem comfy as can be. Haha. Stocking up on more Gatorade and camping out on the couch.
