Does anyone have any experience with either of these carriers? Could you tell me which you think would be best for the first few months? I have an Ergobaby Carrier that I plan to use once LO has full head/neck control, but I know the Ergobaby infant inserts have horrible reviews and seem incredibly difficult to use. So I plan on using a more newborn-friendly carrier for the first few months, I just don't know which of these three I should go with.
Moby Wrap - my friend loaned me her Moby so it's FREE! It just looks complicated to use so I'm worried it would take forever to get on and get LO situated. Does this get easier and faster with practice? Is it a good newborn carrier?
Baby K'Tan - $59.95 This is cheaper than the Nesting Days and they have a Breeze model which looks lightweight (important since I'll be carrying LO around in the hottest part of a Texas summer). K'tan is supposed to last through 6 months of age.
Nesting Days - $120.00 This is the most expensive option, and it only lasts through 4 months according to their website. But it looks very easy to use and I've read a couple of compelling reviews.
Since I'm a FTM, I'm not opposed to spending a little more money on certain items if they really are the best option...but I also don't want to make a stupid purchase. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Re: Baby K'Tan vs. Nesting Days vs. Moby Wrap Baby Carriers
I recently got a linen Sakura Bloom ring sling that I'll definitely use. Admittedly there are cheaper ring slings out there but I liked this one and treated myself. I may end up also getting a wrap-type carrier. I hadn't heard of the Nesting Days but was looking at the K'Tan or a woven wrap.
I've heard of tons of people just rolling up receiving blankets while their babies are in the infant stage for their Ergo. They say that it worked better for them than the infant insert.
I obviously haven't tried it all out yet to give you an opinion from experience, but overall, people love their Ergos! I want one so bad!

I have the sleepy wrap, which is similar to the moby, but cheaper. I love it in the new born stage, but you do have to practice the wrapping and put it on before you leave home. So I bought a K'Tan last time, but LO was older and the sizing just wasn't right. I could get her in it, but neither of us was comfortable. I've got several of the structured carriers, with buckles and with ties. I've yet to successfully use them much. I never get them adjusted correctly or something. So I don't have any love for any of those.
I'm hoping my K-Tan will be the right size when this little one is tiny as it does seem to hold the baby the same way the wrap did (which both of my older girls loved) without all the hot long fabric of the wrap.
I recently bought the NuRoo for the itty bitty stage. I'm really looking forward to that. I always wanted to do more skin to skin time with the wrap, but the prospect of handling that much fabric was too over whelming in the early days...and the white breeze k-tan I bought wouldn't cover enough for me to be comfortable.

One of my friends gave me a Maya Wrap ring sling that I'm going to try this time.
Just today I snagged a Boba Wrap from a local mom - it was only $20 so I figured even if the wrap doesn't end up working for us it was cheap.
I had my sister with me when registering at babies r us. She said she would HIGHLY recommend the baby K'Tan. A friend of hers who is "all natural" and lives a very active lifestyle had a different one and then switched to the K'Tan. She said it's the best carrier she's ever had, and I trust her opinion completely.
As for the sizing, it has right on the box to figure out the best size for you. I am 5'7", 135lbs pre pregnancy, currently 150, and I registered for a size small. Not concerned at all about the fit.
