Is anyone else concerned about the posture LO is in when in a swing?

We have a hand-me-down graco swing that I got from my cousin, it's a papasan style and sometimes it's the only way I can get LO to nap. But when he's in there his chin ends up on his chest and this is how he falls asleep. It makes me nervous that he could be getting less air. All that being said, he has been sleeping in it for naps since about 2 weeks and nothing has happens so maybe I'm being a paranoid FTM?

Does anyone own a swing that doesn't cause LO to be so bunched up? I'm disturbed by it enough that I'm willing to go buy a new swing, but I've done some searches and can't find one that lays flat or claims to put LO in a better position. Any advice is appreciated! TIA!

Well it depends on the swing. The FP snug bunny has three settings. The most flat setting is almost the same incline as a RNP which is what we use. Bottom line is if you put LO in a swing you need to watch over. I think the swing is ok for naps but many recommend avoiding night time sleep.

Having said the above, I have consistently used the swing for night time and naps. Occasionally I do think the posture bothers me which will make me check on LO a couple extra times. Also at night I put a breathing monitor on him and don't start the motion. LO has reflux and the swing is the only thing that has helped him sleep. His pedi was fine with it. He did say not say it was ideal but said if sleep is needed it was fine.

Thanks ladies! I'm glad/sad :-/ that I'm not the only one worried about this.

@njb750‌ thanks for letting me know about the snugabunny. I'm going to go to BBB and test out what they have there and see if any are better than what I have. I might check out the mamaroo too even with the price. It seems more adjustable and I can get one on craigslist if needed.
