Clomid and Cysts

Hello everyone. In February I took 100mg of Clomid days 3-7. I did not get a mature follicle so I started progesterone. Then at the start of my next cycle I went in and had a 4cm cyst on my ovary. I ended up having to do 2 months of birth control to get rid of it. This last cycle I did clomid 100mg days 3-12. I did not stimulate off of that either. I am currently taking Progesterone to get a period but I am worried that a cyst will develop again. Does anyone know the chances of a cyst redeveloping? Also, I have PCOS, not sure if that matters.

I'm not sure if anyone can tell you your chances of having cysts again. If you look at people's siggies you can get some idea that some people developed cysts one cycle, but not another. Hopefully you'll be fine.

GL Kelsey! Hopefully your cysts don't come back.

I totally feel you though, I got gigunto (and painful) cysts after my first round of clomid. My Dr insisted on monitoring, and thankfully mine went away after a couple cycles, without progesterone. Right now, I'm on Femara instead of Clomid, hoping that the different meds work this round!

I'm sorry about your cysts, and that even with all that trouble your RE hasn't gotten you ovulating. Do you think he or she would be willing to consider switching to a different med since you haven't had a positive response yet? And to take the worry away about cysts? I'm sorry that I don't have any info on the chances of a cyst recurring, but I want to wish you good luck, and I hope there's no cyst this time around!

I will be going to Letrozole on Days 3-7 and then Follistim Days 9 and 10 and IUI if I stimulate. Thanks for the support!
