I joined The Bump the moment I found out we were expecting. (I have since changed my user name since it was too google-able. Hence why it looks like I’m a newbie.) Obviously, being my first pregnancy, I wanted to connect with other moms to be. And I turn to The Bump for support again. I have never been more frustrated and mad in my whole life. I apologize for any run on sentences you may find below.
Long story short, I was sick about 95% of my pregnancy, told the On Call nurse something wasn’t right and I wanted an appointment. She said to just “relax, everything was fine” I told her, she was drunk (and a few other things), lost our baby naturally at home, and again argued with the On Call Nurse that something still wasn’t right. I passed out in our bathroom. Husband freaked out, drove me to ER. The ER doctor took one look at me and admitted in the hospital overnight due to anemia and possible sepsis. Thankfully the next day my white blood cells when back down to normal the next afternoon.
However, I have been having to go back every Friday to have my HCG Levels check out.
- April 25th levels were at 23. (I don’t remember the levels from prior Fridays)
- May 2nd my levels were at 12. I mention something like shouldn’t we be concerned? “Oh noo its finnneee”
- May 9th levels came back at 10. Dr’s assistant called me bright and early all freaked out because my levels weren’t dropping as quickly as they expected. I needed one more draw and if it still wasn’t at least down to 2 they wanted me to come in for additional testing.
- May 16th levels were at 7. I had to call today and beg for my results. I mention how the assistant was flipping out last week about my levels and the nurse says “Oh it’s okay. Don’t worry about it. Just come in to get another draw this Friday.”
Based on what google tells me it can take a while before its all out of your system. It’s just so frustrating for me because it feels like its never going to go back to 0! Heck, it takes me longer to drive to the hospital than it does to have my blood drawn and it just reminds me of everything I just had to go through! I told the nurse, I wasn’t making another draw appointment until my doctor called me. I am patiently awaiting his call.8-| 8-|
Anyways, thanks for reading my rant.
Re: Intro & decreasing hcg levels.

I'm so sorry about your loss, I would also talk to the dr about the nurses behavior and request to not have to deal with that nurse again..
