When a tantrum is starting, pick her up bring her to another room, lie her on the floor and walk away. Don't make eye contact and don't speak to her. This prevents her from dropping and hitting her head, it takes away the dramatic flop to the floor and takes away the audience. She will soon find that tantrums get no attention and when they get no attention they usually are not worth continuing.
Oh my gosh my son does the say thing. He stands on his feet and hits his head on the floor! It looks like it hurts but I usually lay him on his back and walk away. Lol!
